I hav a asrock p4i45dv mother board , its cpu lights appear but nothing is displayed in monitor may i know the cause of this problem and soluton

This is either a bad monitor, a bad video card (if you're using a stand-alone card), or a bad motherboard. Test the monitor by connecting it to another computer. If the monitor works, then it's the video card or MOBO. Use a stand-alone (PCIx/AGP) video card that you are certain works. If this does not work, then the MOBO is not working. I hope this is helpful and best of luck!

Hi, I have an Intel DG31PR mobo with nVidia 460GTX Intel Core 2 Duo 3GB RAM DDR2 Was working fine. Changed casing today and 1. no display shown 2. mobo gives 4 beeps and reboots, goes back to...

Points to a mobo problem.
However, it could be a short, caused by an unseen standoff pillar making contact with the board.
I would first of all, remove the board, place it on an A.S surface and connect it to a monitor, with 1 stick of ram, No hard drive and no CD rom attached. Use a makeshift power switch to trigger the power on the Fpanel header, or carefully touch the Power pins with a screwdriver to boot it.

If that fails to work, check the board for burns, blowing capacitors and damage, especially underneath

If it does work, replace each component in turn, examine the case to see you are not placing the board on a standoff pillar that will not be taking a screw

Hi I have a Toshiba satellite laptop M30-127 when I boot up the screen breaks up into many colored lines and the resolution seemed to go I'm told by some Toshiba service technicians that there is a problem...

This may or may not be of some help. http://www.laptopka.com/2006/04/12/remove-replace-video-board/

Usually with laptops you have to replace the mobo but looks like there may be a possibility (slim one) that the card can be replaced, however I could not find anything as far as parts to get to replace just the video card so its looking more and more like the whole mobo would need to be replaced.

hello mr,carrera :) ...

i think u have only two choices u have to do :

1: you disconnect the power cable from you PSU , then reset the BIOS using the jumper pre-installed on your board , check the manual for this " Clear CMOS " ,,

then try again , if not then

2: u will have to replace your bios with an updated one of the exact motherboard model , you can do this easily cause Biostar have the socket of Bios ,not mounted in the motherboard ,,,

so, i am pretty sure that its a bios issue , like 95% ,,,,
the 5% u don't wanna know it ,,,,( Bad PSU might affected the power ct. of your Board :( ,,,, but try Bios 1st....

Colored dotted lines across the screen

If you understand the components of a computer pretty well, open the case and remove and reseat the graphics card into the slot.

Does it seem to only do it after so long, for example turn the computer of for a few hours, and it wont happen when its first turned on, but then a few moments later it starts after its warmed up?
If this does not resolve the issue, you may be experiencing graphic artifacts which can occur when a gpu is overheating due to a poor cooler. Check to make sure the heatsink is touching the gpu.

There is nothing you can do in the menu but a tech would need to be contacted. Bring up the menu and if the problem is not there replace the small signalbaord. If it is replace the Y upper board.
