In order to apply the fix, you must gain access to the right side of the printer as you are facing it. Also, the top of the printer needs removed so that you can gain access to the printhead and the wiper.

remove two screws from the back (note which screw came from which side as they are of different lengths),then locate and slightly bent the plastic release tab on each of the side panels and so it is able to easily remove the panels. The top portions of the printer can be removed and coaxed out rather easily.

see the printhead tilted back with the wiper assembly inbetween it and the frame. While lifting the printhead off of the wiper, slowly rotate the white gears on the top right portion of the printer so that the wiper started going down.

The printhead then returned to its fully rested state and the printer has never worked so well!

I have a xerox phaser 8400 printer that will not do anything, just reads "fault 37,004.40:32046" what can I do? Thank-you

The 37,004.40 error means that the ink reservoir is not heating up correctly. Make sure the printer is plugged in directly into the wall and not on a power strip and cycle the power to the machine (turn it off and back on). If the problem continues, you probably have a bad printhead which you have to replace. For the 8400 the part number is 650-4303-00. Iteminc.com has that part in stock and ships same day. Here is a video that shows you how to replace the printhead. Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa.

Xerox on a 8400 faults code 37004 403B25998 what does it mean

37,004 is a printhead error, specifically that a Reservoir heater isn't drawing power from the power supply.

The printhead 650-4303-00 is expensive, unfortunately.

Our printer is showing fault reference: 07.010.43:46041. Can you identify the problem and offer help? Robert Savage

7,010.43: The Printhead is stuck in the tilted position, or is not able to tilt
forward to the print position, due to problems.
  1. Try to reboot. still nothing
  2. do the printhead restraints rotate correctly? They are black plastic peaces that pull the print head back to it's home possition. Replace the print head restraits.
make sure no ink is spilled in the printhead area that could also be causing the jam. Clean around the print head area.
also make sure that the printhead is not stuck to the wiper blade. if it is do the following:
Start the printer in diagnostics mode and run idiags test Exercise Heater - toggle Printhead heaters to soften the ink. Manual separate the wiper and Printhead. Set them in their home positions.

well good luck.

When I turn on my Phaser 8400 I get an error message of 07,008.41:4825. What the problem. Thanks for your help.

7,008.4x: head tilt not engaged.
The printhead tilt is not engaged, so it didn't tilt back properly or the printhead is stuck in the tilted position by the tilt lock arms. The process motor gear train getting out of sync can also cause this error.

1. Try rebooting the printer.
2.make sure there is no ink melted under the printhead which can make it dificult for the printhead to work properly..
3. make sure that the printhead restraints are not broken.
4. Check for an obstruction or damage in the process gearbox.
Ensure the gears are correctly aligned and homed. If faulty replace the process gearbox assembly.
5. Run the Tilt Axis Drive test to test the headtilt.
6. Run the Head Maintenance Wiper Clutch test. If the test fails, replace the wiper drive clutch.
7. Run the Wiper Axis Drive test.
8. Replace the exit assembly.

good luck!

Xerox printer error code (04,025.46)

This is a print head position issue.

TRY FIRST (Solutions without parts):
1. Check that the wipe mechanism has homed. 2. Check the printhead position and verify that it has initialized properly / manually home the printhead and power cycle the printers power and check for the error to return. If not then the error was most likely due to non-process function (something out of sequence).
Part likely to be the cause:
GEARBOX AND MOTOR,PROCESS DRIVE - PL 4.0, Item 14.
