Tiny reload disc back to factory setting wont work

Tiny computer disc

  • Sir Bill Apr 27, 2008

I was not referring to the size of cd/dvd disc when I said Tiny but the name of computer manufacturer. "TINY" is trade name. The recovery disc which came with computer will no longer take the computer back to factory settings if it freezes and there is no other way to boot up.

Not a problem. The same Conventional CD/DVD DRIVE can be used to work with tiny CDs.

Restore IBM Thinkpad R500 Windows Vista to factory settings, erasing all passwords

You need a recovery disc for this operation. If you're any good with computers at all, and do not do this lightly, you can download dukes ban. Again this is not for novice pc users. This will literally and completely wipe your entire computer. Nothing will be recoverable and you will have to set everything. even the Hard Drive sizes. You will then need an OS disc like windows vista, windows 7, windows xp, etc and reload the entire OS back onto the hard drive.

Try to take it back to factory setting now have a blue shreen

If you can't get to your desktop you can either reload the OS or you can restart the computer hitting f8 it will bring up some options - you can either use "safe mode" or you can go to "last good configuration that worked". One last resort is to insert the OS disc restart the computer hitting f2 and change the BIOS to read the CD drive and load the OS that way too

I have a samsung recovery media disc sp1 does it contain factory settings i got with the laptop

Hard to say from my desk. If you reloaded Windows , you didn't mention which version, all you need to do is Windows and Samsung updates. What Factory settings have you lost? You can put the DVD or CD in the laptop and reboot from disk and see what is on it and abort/cancel or try repair my computer.

My toshiba wont load up windows

There are any number of reasons why this is the case, hard drive issues, or corrupted window files. Remove hardware and reseat back into position, hard drive may start, if not! use your recovery disc if available to reload windows to factory settings, if no change the hard drive needs to be checked by a professional.

I wanna know how to reset my laptop back to factory settings Gateway windows 7 model# NEW90 NV59C

usually if you dont get a recovery disc with your laptop you would then use those discs to reload the system from scratch. the other is that you would have to create recovery discs as soon as you started using the laptop. if the sales person did not make you aware of it then he is a very bad sales person. the other solution would be to go to the web-site of the manufacturer of the laptop and under the support section or drivers and downloads you will find drivers and recovery disc image or iso or a self extracting file which you will then have to copy to disc then use the created disc to reload the system

One step recovery not working windows wont load.anything i can do

Hi maybethray,

Using the One Key Recovery will help you resolve the problem, windows not loading, on your machine. There might be something that you have missed out on the process. You may consider to try using the One Key Recovery once again and follow the steps below:

Reminder: Please be advise that OKR will put back your machine to it's factory settings, will reload the operating system and all the drivers for your laptop. Create a back up copy of your important files to avoid data lost. Also, make sure that the AC Adapter is plugged in during the whole process.

Here's How:
  • Turn off your computer.
  • Press the One Key Recovery button. It's an orange button near the power. Your system will automatically turn on and it will say Windows Loading Files.
  • Wait until you are directed on Lenovo One Key Rescue System page.
  • Select One Key Recovery.
  • After that, select restore from initial backup.
  • Then you will have to hit on Start.
  • Once the process is done the system will prompt you and make sure to select Reboot.
Your operating system is now reloaded to your machine. If this process will not work the other way that you can reload the OS is through the recovery disc. For this, you need to contact Lenovo so you can request for the disc to be sent out to you. Their number is 18774536686then select option number 3.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

BIOS Lock preventing reload on Tiny PC

For that you need to RESET your bios settings to factory defaults.
Open cpu cabinet cover and pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then all settings goes to defaults.
You can also reset settings with jumper it is near cmos cell it has 3 pins 1-2-3 put jumper in 2-3 position then power up the computer then all settings defaults.
Then if you want to boot your computer with disk then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del key to enter in bios then go to boot menu and set first boot device as cd/dvd rom then save settings and exit.
Then it boot with your disk. Then follow the procedure on screen then you can reinstall your windows or recover old windows.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

I am trying to reload my tiny computer to factory settings with the reload disc that was supplied but when i press the R on my keyboard for reload it does not work. Can someone please help.

Depending on what type of computer you have, most computers have a key you can press during start up that will restore the computer to factory settings, I know the eMachine's have this function as a F11 as with the HP's.

Factory settings wiyhout any discs

On some emachines you can hold down the F10 or F11 key on the BIOS splash screen that will take you to the recovery partition. Just follow the prompts and it will completely reload all the factory settings on the computer.
