Power off the printer. Unplug the printer's USB cable for 5 seconds replug turn on the printer. If that fails power off the PC and printer unplug the USB cable at the PC and printer replug and power back on the PC. After PC is fully booted turn the printer back on. What are the possible disadvantages of computer monitors?

Monitors, otherwise known as displays or screens, currently come in two formats: LCD and Trinitron ("the boxy thingy").
LCD pros: Flat, low radiation (as far as I know) LCD cons: displays can either come with or develop "dead pixels" - pixels that remain a solid color or display black, are very fragile - pressing the display surface is not "healthy" for the display
Trinitron pros: deep color Trinitron cons: relatively moderate-to-medium radiation
Both types of displays can suffer from "screen burn" - if an image is displayed for too long (several hours/days) it will permanently "burn" itself into the display and be visible at all times.

Driver required for HP laserjet 1018 with Applemac OS 10.4.10

Unfortunately, the 1018 is not supported in the mac environment.
Unless you are familiar with changing the source codes from linux to MAC I wouldn't attempt it.

The other option would be to set the printer up on a different machine as default and using a program like NETWORK MAGIC,
network the computers together and share the printer, Use the trial version first to see if it works.

Ok if your printer is usb, then you need to install the software FIRST before plugging the printer into the computer via usb.

Gotot this website

On the right it will say what OS do you have. Select your operating system. DOwnload the driver for the printer. Prolly the first one displayed, then download the driver. Install it. Restart your computer, then plug the printer into your computer via usb. I hope this helps. If not please contact me so i can help you further!!! Let me know how it goes!!
