I have the same issue- but how can you update your software if the battery won't charge? In the instructions to install the latest software updates, it states the battery needs to be fully charged. I have the same problem also even after upgrading the software. I purchased a new battery and it will not charge. I can plug the s-50 into the wall charger and it charges.
