One light looks like a windshield wiper and the other is a plate of food which I think indicates power. It won't heat up at all since the windshield wiper looking red light has been on. Lost the manual - please help!
THAT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME AND I FINALLY GOT THROUGH TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE HEATER CORE WAS MANUFACTURED BAD SO THEY MADE ME CUT THE POWER CORD AND MAIL IT IN AND THEY SAY THEY WILL SEND ME A NEW MICROWAVE.

The magnetron is on the verge of failure, or if a plate with metal compound or tin foil will cause arcing if food is warmed up. But I think it would be a good idea to have it checked especialy if warranty applies.
It is possible that your magnetron is heating up some soft spots inside the oven or there is a damage to the feed wires to the maggnetron or to the main capacitors. But before we start, I want you to be very careful. Remove the power and use a good flash light to look inside for the mountings near the magnetron-- a square/round fitting top right side of the oven when viewing from the front. If there is any possibility that your have not used food covers, some food could have splurted on to this and made it soft due to heating on the food. If so, you will have make a clean dry wipe, let it dry for some time before you test. If fault stays visualise the spot of smoke and invetigate . If you are powering the set with the cover removed please be very careful. replace the capacitor, wires or any insects/ cockroaches that have got entanged. hope you find this advise helpful Good day
I have the same problem. Emerson gave me the name of a parts company (Fox International 1-800-321-6993) and they can supply a replacement when it comes off of backorder (anywhere from two to twelve weeks).
