Re: Ricoh Aficio 1018 photocopier
For the Aficio 1018. SC-320 is laser failure - the polygon mirror motor inside the laser has failed and needs replacing. You will need to contact your nearest service agent for repair.
For your RICOH Aficio 1013F - SC-551 is overheat in standby mode as far as I can tell. The circuitry that controls the fuser section ie manages the heat has problem. Unless its right near a source of heat like a heater or has no circulation around you machine you will need contact a repair agent for this machine also.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

sc320 on the Lanier 5635 is a laser unit error code. Often if you power cycle the machine (turn it off with the orange power switch on the left side of the copier, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on) the code will clear and the copier will resume normal operation. If the error code comes back or doesn't clear, you'll probably need to replace either the entire laser assembly or the polygon mirror motor inside the laser unit. These are best done by a professional -- contact your local Lanier service company if the problem persists.
YOUR PROBLEM IS IN THE LASER ASSY. FIRST GUESS IS THE POLYGON MIRROR MOTOR.IS SLOWING DOWN AND NEEDS REPLACING.USUALLYYOU CAN HEAR A WHINING NOISE AS
THE MOTOR REVS UP APPROX.30000RPMS. SC320 DOES NOT MEAN THE SAME THING FOR EACH MODEL BUT IT DOES MEAN A PROBLEM IN THE LASER UNIT
Is this actually a Ricoh Aficio 1013F, or another model, because "CH551" is not a ricoh service code?Do you mean "SC551" If so, this is a fuser "triac" problem (basically a fuse in the heater unit). It can only be reset in service mode after the problem is fixed...and will require a tech.
What is the actual code. Your heading says '321', then you list "320"? "320" is the polygon (laser motor) that is defective. "321" is more likely the BICU board. Could simply require the LD pitch adjustment be performed, depending on what else you have done. Do both the 400dpi, and 600 dpi. initial setting SP 2109-3 (400 DPI) SP 2109-4 (600 DPI)
dear sir; the error code 320 on ricoh af 2027 it's means laser polygon motor problem, the laser unit right under the toner unit, litlle bit left. some error code can be reset why don't give them a try
1, power on the machine
2, press "clear mode"( has the c in a diamond), "107"then press and hold down "clear/stop" key
3,turn power off 10 second later back on.
I f reset doesn't work, you need to replace laser motor. thank you
