How do I auto answer using Plantronics Headset (Savi W740) on a Mitel 4250 Phone?

Plantronics makes an adjunct device that attaches to the telephone base (Velcro) and can lift the handset when the button on your headset is pressed. Unfortunately that's the only way to directly integrate the Plantronics (or any other brand) headsets with the Mitel 4XXX series phone. This handset lifter is actually bundled with some of the SAVI headsets, depending on the actual model you get. Separately it's about an additional $50 option. I recall the Plantronics part number is HL-10. Hope this helps.

I have Nortel T7316E phones and Plantronics HW251N headsets. Is there a way to increase the volume for the mic so that the caller can hear us better?

The A10 direct connect cord used on the Nortel T7316E primarily will increase the speaker volume. If the problem is that your microphone is too low, you will need to use an amplifier, the M22. Remember that the amplifier needs to be connected through the HANDSET jack not the headset jack. Here is the link for the Plantronics M22.

I am trying to use a plantronics headset system and cannot get a dial tone. Is this Norstar phone compatible?

You don't say what headset it is, but I will to help you.

If this is a Plantronics corded "H" series headset you will need to use an A10 adapter cord, which plugs into the headset jack on the phone.

If this is what you are using and you don't hear anything then you need to probably need to switch to an M22 amplifier box, which is then plugged into the jack where the telephone handset was plugged in.

If you are using a wireless headset it plugs into the handset jack where the handset cord was plugged into.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

How do I remove a Plantronics headset and set the phone back up to ordinary headset?

I am presuming that you mean how do you remove the plantronics headset and start using the handset, firstly unplug the headset and put the handset back in to the underneath of the phone- if you are unsure check one of the other phones on your phone system. at the telephone with the handset in its cradle dial TRANSFER 110, using the volume key scroll down until you read 'HEADSET USE: ON' , press the 3rd small button under the screen, your cursor will now be under the word 'ON' , press the volume key and it will say'OFF' now press your TRANSFER key. At www.abbeytelecom.com you will find over 60 training videos relating to the Samsung Prostar phone-system. I have loaded one for you as a sample for future reference

Humming on clarity phone. did not hum when first purchased. old at&t phone does not hum when plugged in on same line.

Have had this symptom from bad line cord or corroded line cord connection in phone. Also, could be bad handset cord. Try switching out the handset and handset cord from the AT&T phone to determine if Clarion has bad handset or handset cord.

Can the DTP- etc be programmed so you do not have to lift handset to answer or dial when using Plantronic headset?

no, sorry you need a plantronics (or other) "lifter" to be installed on the phone. The headset has no clue what line to answer on the phone . The lifter will raise the handset when headset button is pressed. Using the auto answer here is a link

Problem using headset - why the handset has to be off hook

Be sure the headset you have is compatible with the Merlin Magix and a 4424 L4D+ phone. You will need to program both the headset status and headset hangup buttons. Headset status will negate the need for lifting the handset. and the hangup button is used to disconnect the call.

How do you program phone for headset mode on sts phone and where do you plug it in?

Some phones have jack on the side of the phone. If it does not, you will need a standard telephone headset with amplifier. You will need a handset button (634) programmed on the phone. Then in programing Flash 50 button 4 you will need to disable speakerphone. Flash 50 button 18 determines the headset type: 0-is amplified unit plugged into handset cord, 1-is 2.5mm jack on side of phone,

To use handset, press handset button so it is lit, use on off to answer calls with the handset.

Have the 6408D+ phone. Got a Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset.

You can use an handset lifter accessory, such as the HL1 or HL10 to pick up the handset every time you need to use the headset.
