Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3m Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Water damage? My phone was dropped in water. We let it dry out for 4 days, with battery and SIM card out. It worked fine after those 4 days. Now, 2 weeks later, in the middle of creating or reading a text message, the volume instantly goes up and freezes the keys. We tried taking out the battery and SIM card and putting them back in, but it didn't help. If I turn on the phone, either the volume goes instantly back up or I'll press down on the # key to make it go to vibrate, but the volume goes up and as I said, freezes the keys. Any ideas?

bring that to a service center as the damage may increase if you still keep on using it.

I dropped my lg vu cu920 into the water and it just says emergency dowload, what do i do?

Take the battery out, dry the phone, battery, SIM and/or memory card with paper towels as much as possible. Take all of the pieces and wrap them in a single paper towel loosely. Drop this in a ziplock bag and fill it with baking soda, then zip it up. Let it sit for 2 - 3 days.

The worst thing to do with a phone that has been in contact with water is to run a current through it.

Tip

Dropped the cell phone or mobile in water

Dropped the cell phone in water
If you would have accidently dropped your cell phone in water or it fell in water you can try fixing it be these below tips
1. Remove the battery of the mobile and try drying it with a hair dryer
2. Put the cell phone in a raw rice container for a day, the rice will soak the moisture and the mobile will become dry from inside
3. After that put the battery back on and try switching, there are more chances now that it will work
4. Never try to instantly switch on the cell phone after taking it out from water you should follow the above steps, switching it on instantly can lead to short circuit in mobile and the cell software can get damaged
5. You can also put the phone in light sunlight (not in very hot direct sunlight) after removing the battery do not put the battery in sunlight though
6. Also make sure you keep the SIM card out of the mobile

By taking these steps you can make a fair attempt to save your mobile from dying.

Vikram

My mobile is damage by water how can i solve this problem

Get the Phone Out of the water. Do NOT power it on.
This may sound too obvious a step but a few extra seconds that your phone spends in water can reduce whatever chances you had of saving your phone.
If however your phone has spent more than a few minutes in water try removing the battery when the whole gadget is under water itself .
Powering up the phone when it is wet causes the maximum damage to your phone.

2 Remove the battery and SIM card
Water + battery is a bad combination for your phone. Remove the battery as soon as possible. SIM card too must be removed immediately as water on SIM cards may erase all your contacts stored in the SIM.
3 Dry the phone as much as possible
Try and pat dry the phone, the battery and the SIM card. Using a paper towel is advisable for removing water quickly.
4 Metciulously Disassemble the phone completely
This is one of the most important steps on your phone's path to recovery. If possible take your phone to a local mobile phone servicing shop and ask him/her top disassemble the phone completely for you. Make sure the circuits are not powered up by the shopkeeper.
If you are worried that disassembling the phone will make your warranty/guarantee void you need to know that phones come with Water Damage indicators which change colors with the slightest hint of water. No phone warranty covers water damage.
5 Dry all the phone components with a dessicant
After disassembling the phone immerse each component in a bowl of uncooked rice / silica gel packs. These dessicants absorb water effectively and draw out water from all nooks and corners of your phone. Heating / Vaporising the water is a bad idea cause that would leave salts on your phone's circuitry and cause corrosion and eventual death of your phone. Hence drying with uncooked rice/silica gels where water is removed by absorption is the best option. Leave it there for a couple of days.
6 Show patience and let every component lie under a table lamp for a couple of days
Now your phone is almost on its way to complete recovery provided you show Adequate patience. You may keep the bowl of rice under a table lamp for this duration . Changing the rice /silica gels though not a mandatory step, can be pretty effective and useful.
7 Assemble , Pray and Switch on!

My Sony Cybershot Camera was dropped in water accidentally the other day. I have let it dry out as much as possible for 2 days. When I tried to use it, the camera still takes pics as it did before but it...

Try this and rate me if useful :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

Wet cell phone-blank screen

Well it depends on the type of screen you have in the phone. Some have edges that can split open and lose the fluid that projects the picture so your best bet is to just replace the phones screen, if every thing else works fine

Water damage

It might be to late, but doesn't hurt to try, keep battery / sim card out, and put the phone in a freezer, if you don't have a freezer place it next to an air vent, wait over night (10 hours at least) And you should see water dripping out, warm it in your hands for about 20 seconds, dry it out with any towel / cloth place the sim card than battery in, if it doesn't turn on contact your phone company from a land-line about your insurance
