Without the make and model I can not give you details. However, the TV is detecting a problem and shutting down to prevent further damage. The most common failure is of hte horizontal output transistor. This is a 3-legged part attached to a heat sink close to the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). Try replacing the transistor first.

Projection TV keeps shutting down

Good Day;

Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Won't turn on

those tvs will try 3 times before completely shutting down. you can try and take the back off and check CP150 it is a large capactior located near the middle of the board on the left hand side(looking from back) if it looks and feels like the top is vented or puffed out then that could be the problem. if not i suggest having a qualified service tech take a look because there are too many things that could be the root cause.

Tv turns self off when turned on

Does it blink a certain amount of blinks pause a second or just blink constantly with no pauses? Let me know it will blink a code if its going into protected shutdown. And it will blink constantly for another reason.
