See if there is a resistor connected from the junction of C154 and R207 to the junction of C187 and R235.
If there is no resister at these points add one.
Common values used are from 220 k ohm up to 680 or 1 meg ohm. The higher the value, the lower the volume.
If there is, increase the value until you have the volume low enough to use.
Be sure to leave R189 out of the circuit.

My galaxy dx 88 hl works great but the talk back won't work on am but does work on pa what is wrong

if you hooked it up its wrong but I assume you didn't.First of all talkback is a feature that allows you to hear your voiceand you don't5 need a radio check because you can tell by your own voice how your radio sounds if you want it to work on am you need to attach a 33ohm resistor from the positive to the neg of the external and pa plug ins. the talkback will be on all the time by the way.

How do i set my galaxy dx 88 hl so the talkback is on all the time

turn the talkback knob to the right and push it in to engage talkback.when you get the volume you want leave it alone .Now key the mic.You will probably hear a squeal coming from the speaker. Now turn the volume down on the talkback knob until the squeal goes away.If you run your RF gain wide open it may squeal also.

I accidently plugged the ground wire into the positive side

Sounds like byou blew the transmiter diode. Take it to a good CB shop and they can replace it. Most reliable ones will bench check for free.

Rushing sound (noise) galaxy 88 HL

RUSHING SOUND ?
1. Get the noise then disconnect the coax and see if noise goes away on receive, if noise goes away then address the ground on your antenna,
if noise still there then address the ground wire from power source

Dx-88 HL

You'll need to take it to a repair shop. Because it transmits its under FCC rules so a certified tech needs to work on it.

Or take it back to where you got it and have them correct the problem.
