NG or poor line condition on the transmission report means that there is interference on the phone line.you need to double check the quality of the dial tone-if it static or clear.now, other interferences could be caused by other devices on the same line as your fax such as DSL modems.make sure first that you connect the brother machine directly to the walljack and try resending a fax.modem settings can be changed.e-mail me if you need that info

If you get the "busy/no response" message it is because the fax machine does not get a response when it tries to dial out.
Make sure you have a dial tone by pressing the "hook" button.
If you do not have a dial tone, make sure the phone line is connected to LINE on the machine.
If you have a dial tone, try dialing the fax number.
If you hear a recording, there is a problem with the line.
One of these two possibilities is causing the problem.
FIRST OFF. IF YOU PLUG A PHONE INTO THE JACK DO YOU GET DIAL TONE? IS THE WALL JACK PLUGGED IN TO THE RIGHT JACK ON THE MACHINE? NEXT GO IN TO THE MENUE SET UP FOR FAX. GO TO THE SECTION WHERE YOU WILL SEE EASY RECEIVE AND EASY SEND, ON BOTH OF THEASE PRESS SET OR OK THIS SHOULD NORMALLY DO THE TRICK, IF ALL FAILS, THEN YOU MAY NEED A PHONE BOARD CALLED A NCU BOARD. GOOD LUCK BROTHER SR TECH
Hi, This is what the code means: Redial was not successful due to no response from the called station or wrong number dialed. Note: If busy tone was not detected, the machine will only redial once. So the your fax machine is getting no response from the fax you're calling. Hope that helps...
the number you called does not answer or busy-you may have reached a number not connected to fax or it is connected and not activated in receiving mode-check the number and call again. if you have a message "out of memory"there is no enough memory available to send your fax.press stop/exit print the faxes stored in the memory to delete them then try again.
Make sure the phone cord is connected to fax machine in the place marked LINE, then make sure the phone cord is connected to the wall jack. Pick up your handset and make sure you have a clear dial tone also. If you are dialing long distance make sure you have the long distance service.
go into menu go to fax settings find send click auto not manual, please make sure that when you push the hook key you hear a dial tone. always reminder that every fax machine has the capablitiy of either dial or tone. now if everything is set up properly the problem will be in the tx portion of the board. if you can link up with somebody close to you and try to transmit back and fourth that will let you know if it is their problem or your. it may not be your problem.
