Question about HP OfficeJet G85 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP G85 Where the power cable meets the G85 at the back, This power pin at the rear is loose - I have to hold the cable in an upward direction for G85 to power on. How do I fix the power pin ?

The power plug is HP proprietary, you'll have to order a replacement board and a power supply to get around that problem.

When I turn my hp g85 on,I get the following message:initializing,then a sound then press enter to allign cartridges then the printer flashes off &on and turned off by its self.

Please try below resets

Power Drain:

  • Turn OFF the printer, disconnect the power cable from backside of the printer and from wall outlet.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds.
  • Connect the cable and turn ON the printer.

Partial Reset

  • Remove the power cable from back side of the printer while its ON.
  • Press and hold "#" and "3" button, while holding them both insert the power cable and release the button after 10 seconds.
  • If printer turns OFF, press power button to turn it ON.

Semi-Full reset


  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Remove the power cable from back side of the printer while its ON.
  • Press and hold "#" and "6" button, while holding them both insert the power cable and release the button after 10 seconds.
  • If printer turns OFF, press power button to turn it ON.
  • Insert the ink cartridges.

NVM Reset

  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Remove the power cable from back side of the printer while its ON.
  • Press and hold "Enter" and "Cancel" button, while holding them both insert the power cable and release the button after 10 seconds.
  • If printer turns OFF, press power button to turn it ON.
  • Insert the ink cartridges.

I am receiving coof0401 error code when powering on.


  • In order to resolve this error, follow the steps below:
  • Check the paper feed rollers:
  • Remove the power cable from the rear of the unit.
  • Open the rear access door.
  • Rotate the paper feed rollers in an upward direction.
  • Reinstall the rear access door.
  • If the error persists, go on with Step 2.
  • Perform a power cycle:
  • Verify that the unit is powered on.
  • Remove the power cable from the rear of the unit and wait 20 seconds.
  • Press and hold the POWER button and insert the power cable.
  • If the error persists, go on with Step 3.
  • Perform a semi-full reset:
  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Press and hold # and 6 simultaneously while plugging in the power cord.
  • Turn on the unit.
  • Semi-full reset will do the following:
  • Change the user settings to the factory defaults.
  • Fax logs.
  • Fax headers.
  • Fax speed dial information.

HP photosmart 7760 turn on and says printer cartrage cradle is stuck please remove jam and press ok. There is no jamb and I have tried many times to use the printer.


try to move the carriage manually left and right..and then disconnect the power and usb cable from the back of the printer and press and hold down the
power button for 30 sec and then reconnect the cables and try again...open the backdoor and
try to move the rollers in upward direction.Make sure the unit is connected directly to the
walljack.

I have a HP Photosmart 140 printer and when I go to use it I get a series of "8's" across the screen


seems to be an issue with the printer firmware.
try these steps:
disconnect the power and usb cable from the back of the printer and press and hold down the power button for 30 sec and then reconnect the cables and try again...open the backdoor and try to move the rollers in upward direction.Make sure the unit is connected directly to the walljack.

All the lights are lit up and when I close the printer down within 2 seconds they are back on also it wont print anything.

HP Officejet g85 All-in-One error


Power on the printer, wait around 15 seconds until the bulb assembly moves a bit to the left and the light goes on, then immediately power off.

Repeat the process around 15 times (or more) until the assembly has moved all the way to the left of the glass, and is located directly beneath the small glass on the left.

Remove the single screw that holds down the small glass.

Carefully remove the grey frame around the small glass.

Carefully remove the small glass.

Using a dry Q-tip, carefully insert it into the slot (to the left of the bulb) and clean the mirror. I found mine was coated with a layer of film, as if grease had accumulated over time.

Put everything back together.

Turn on the printer.
