Question about Epson Stylus Photo R300 InkJet Printer

Open Question

Printer won't read memory card

I have 1 and 2Gb memory cards and the printer says that I need to insert a card when there is already a card in there and it won't download the pics. I can't seem to find anywhere in the manual that says a 1 or 2Gb card won't be readable and was wondering if these printers simply won't read the new bigger cards or if there is something wrong with my printer. Seems like they should have been made to handle these memory cards.

SOURCE: DVD/CD tray will not load

With the R800, you must slightly open the paper feed panel door, lift it vertically about an inch and then lay it open horizontally away from the printer. Without doing this, there is no way to insert the disc tray.

My printer says insert memory card

Welcome to FixYa...
I assume the message is not an error message and does not indicate an issue with the product. The message is designed to be an invitation to print photos from a memory card. Follow these steps to insert a memory card into the product.
  1. Locate the memory card slot on the front of the product that is compatible with the memory card to be printed from. Each type of memory card slot accepts only one type of memory card, and only one memory card can be inserted at a time.
  2. Insert the memory card into the appropriate memory card slot.
Some times you may be trying to print Some Data may be from Memory card , you Choose already-But actually your MMC not in/Not Properly in...Hope you find it.....Thanks for Contacting FixYa...

Has the card worked before. If it is the first time you have tried,is the SD card an SDHC,as some printers will not read these.Try a standard SD card and see if your printer reads that.Hope this helps.

Printer wont read SD cards does read sony memory

If it does not seat (fit) properly, why say the printer will not read SD cards? It certainly will read SD cards that are supported. You can still upload to computer and print from there as you suggested.

I have a hp psc 2355 printer everytime i insert

I had the same problem with my HP L7590 All In One. After trying a number of things to reset nothing worked. Then I tried this just as a last resort and it worked.
Insert the/a memory card( it will tell you that you can only use one card at a time).
With the card still in turn off the printer using the power button.
Wait for 30 seconds then turn power on again.
The screen should say reading card. So wait for it to finish reading and all should be fixed.
If this does not work, try again using a different card.
good luck

Send me Kudos if it works.

How do you transfer photos from memory card inserted in HP C5280 printer to my computer?

You cannot read that memory card inserted in HP printer to your Computer because that HP Card Reader port is only for direct access printing from memory card.

All you have to do is use a Multi-memory card reader into the PC where connected to USB port.

I'm sure 100 works!
Good luck!

Not reading 8GB memory card

It sounds as if your printer cannot handle an 8 gig card. Most pieces of hardware have a maximum they can cope with. I found the same with my phone-the card I bought was too big. You may have to settle for using a 2 gig card with your new camera just because of your printer. If you have your printer instructions it should tell you the max capacity card which can be used with it.

HP C5180 All-in-one : Memory Card Error, No memory card in it

  1. Remove the memory card from the camera.
  2. Locate the memory card slot on the product that is compatible with your memory card. Figure 1: Memory card slot locations c01331721.jpg 1 - CompactFlash (I, II) 2 - Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard (MMC), Secure MultiMedia Card 3 - xD-Picture Card 4 - Memory Stick, Magic Gate Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo (with user-supplied adapter), Memory Stick Pro 5 - Front universal serial bus (USB) port (PictBridge-enabled)
NOTE: Some portable USB flash drives with a read-only partition, such as U3 smart drives, might be incompatible with the front mass storage port on your product. These partitions are added by the manufacturer and may include utilities and other software. Refer to the manufacturer for additional details about your drive.
  3. If it is not already on, turn the product on by pressing the power button (c01324469.gif ).
  4. Turn the memory card so that the label faces inward and the contacts face the product. Figure 2: Inserting the memory card c01335108.gif CAUTION: Inserting the memory card in any other way might damage the card and the product.
  5. Gently push the memory card into the memory card slot until it stops. The memory card does not insert all the way into the product; do not try to force it.
  6. When the memory card is inserted correctly, the status light next to the memory card slots flashes and then remains solid green. CAUTION: Never attempt to remove a memory card while it is being accessed. Doing so can damage files on the card. You can safely remove a card only when the status light next to the memory card slots is not blinking. Do not pull out a memory card while the light is flashing green.
Step two: Print the photo
  1. Press Photo Menu . A message displays on the control panel with the number of files found on the memory card.
  2. Press the right (c01185072.jpg ) and left (c01185108.jpg ) arrow buttons to browse through the photos on the memory card.
  3. When the photo number you want to print appears, press OK .
  4. After selecting the photos, press Photo Menu again.
  5. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Number of Copies , and then press OK .
  6. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Layout , and then press OK .
  7. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Paper Size , and then press OK .
  8. Press the right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) to select Paper Type , and then press OK .
  9. Make any other appropriate changes to the settings, and then press Print Photos .

How to use the memory card reader

To access the memory card reader without using the software provided, follow the steps below. If no card is inserted, the green light on the card reader will be on.
Insert a memory card.
• Insert the card with the brand name label facing up.
• If there is an arrow on the card, make sure it points toward the printer.
• If needed, make sure you connect the memory card to the adapter that came with it before inserting it into
the slot.
Wait for the light located to the right of the slots on the printer to come on. The light blinks to indicate the memory
card is being read or is transmitting data.
• The printer recognizes one memory card at a time. If you insert more than one memory card, a message appears
on the display prompting you to remove all memory cards inserted.
• If a USB flash drive is inserted together with the memory card, a message appears on the display prompting you
to choose which memory device to use.
When reading of images is complete, the number of photos found appears on the display. Then you can make your selection and print. these are the types of memory card supported by you printer.

My printer will not read my photo cards

Issue When using a large-capacity memory card (usually 128 MB and higher), the printer appears to lock up or freeze, and the printer may display an error message. Solution Allow the printer to completely read the memory card when it is first inserted before performing any action on the printer. If the memory card reader LED is blinking green, that means that the card is being read by the printer. Wait for the LED to stop blinking.

Epson r320 printer will not read any memory cards

Does the green light come on when you insert a card? Most likely that if it can not read the cards, and it is just not your PC failing to communicate with the card reader, then the mainboard is probably faulty. If it's in warranty get Epson to replace it. If not, you could see if you can source another R320 from eBay, (or similar) that has a different problem and swap the mainboards. You would also need the service utility to do this as you MUST change the print head ID on the new mainboard. Another alternative is to simply buy a cheap card reader and plug it into the USB input port on the printer. If the mainboard is faulty, this may not work though. Still you could then just plug the reader into your PC instead.
