I have a GE profile fridge model # PFS22S1SBSS. My food in the fridge was freezing so I emptied the fridge pulled the back panel observed that the electric flap was operating by holding all buttons on control panel until they blinked and ran diagnostic mode. It did open and close so I put it all together, set the temps to 0/ freezer and 36/Fridge and today both compartments are warm. What's up with that?

I am surprised you were able to do diagnostics without the service manual or do you have one? I think you need to test each thermistor per test point on the motherboard. If the damper door is electric controlled then you must locate the thermistor that appears to be whacking out on you. My manual is about the only copy I have of GE's Artica/Profiles and I see yours appears to be bottom freezer. I think the thermistor is not signaling correctly and may be located near the auto vent. I have a GE Profile Artica S/S, model # PSS25NGMD BB. The fridge side is freezing the food and the digital thermometer keeps going back to 22-25 degrees. Also, yesterday the in-door water dispenser quit...

With temperatures like that the water tank is frozen stopping water to dispenser. This could be thermistors in fresh food section going bad or a combination of thermistors and motherboard. I can assist you if you have not already called for a technician. Sea Breeze

My fridge keeps freezing my food

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

GE Profile Side by Side is getting too cold on the fridge side.

I have a GE refrigerator with the same problem of my food freezing in the refrigerator. I spoke to an appliance part person and they sold me a temperature sensor for 20 bucks. They said it would be located in the control panel, but I took the control panel off and can't find the sensor. I'm now looking on yahoo answers to find out where the sensor is located.
