Tasco 525X60mm

My father bought a tasco telescope many years ago (copyright looks to be 1983) and I don't think he ever got it to work. There is no instruction manual and I am struggling to even put it together. It is a red telescope with a black tripod and says the following on the box:
tasco
56X, 168X, 175X
525X60
59T
Any idea on how to obtain an instruction manual? I would like to get it working for my Dad's sake, but if it is hopeless, then I may just get rid of it.
