Poor copy quality

posted by niobe on Mar 18, 2008

Hi,
The copies are coming out with a smudge on the side and extra images show up on the copy. I have tried changing the ink cartridge. I replaced the drum pretty recently.
thanks!

If you have reprinting images like that, the fuser heat roller is work out. What happens over time is the teflon coating wears and the ink starts to stick to the roller instead of fusing properly into the page.
Once the ink starts sticking to that roller, you get reprint and it just continues to get worse.
Either the heat roll or the fuser itself will need to be replaced.
