I have a question regarding my cpu dell inspiron..Heres my problem: 1. when i start my pc sometime the fan is spinning then suddenly its stop adn run again and then I dont hear any beeps form the board. I...

There is a circuit on the motherboard that detects the ambient temperature of your computer. Your CPU fan has 2 speeds - if it detects the temperature inside your desktop getting hot, it will switch the CPU fan to hi-speed. If you removed the memory and powered on the computer and don't hear any Beep codes then you probably have a problem with the the motherboard and it needs to be replaced. disconnect cables to CD/DVDdrives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

I dont have 2.0 usb how can i update my present usb controller

Dear Friend,
You can identify whether your PC has Hi-Speed USB or not relatively
easy. Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section. There should be an "Enhanced" USB host controller present.
d16424f.jpg
There are currently 7 manufacturers of the Hi-Speed USB host silicon themselves:ALi (Acer Labs), Intel, NEC, Sis, VIA, NVIDIA (shows as "Standard" controller),Philips.
Note:Older computers may have only the slower USB 1.1 interface. Adding USB 2.0 isn't difficult, but it does require a hardware addition.

There is no need to Update your USB in Latest PC.
You have to do one thing is that ensure you are perfectly Installed your Drivers(Included in CD which you Owned when Purchasing PC).

I hope You made it clear ...Thanks for Contacting FixYa...

Hi Good Morning, When i transfer the data

How big are your movie files in MB, and are you using your USB 2.0 to upload or USB 1? Keep in mind USB 2.0 is a little over twice the speed of data transfer, and how long is long? 4 minutes, 2 hrs...? Based on your specs, it shouldn't be more than a few minutes. Check your Task Manager for CPU or Memory hungry processes while transferring.

G'Day! I have a Transcend 2 GB USB stick. Whenever I connect it to my computer or any other computer, I get this error message ''THIS USB DEVICE CAN PERFORM FASTER IF YOU CONNNECT IT TO HIGH SPEED USB 2.0...

Yes. The problem is you don't have usb 2.0 ports on your motherboard. Its the second generation usb port. So if you want to upgrade you can buy additional hardware to upgrade this. But your motherboard has to be compatible with that additional peripheral too. As an example buses of your motherboard. So you have to check that also when you purchase. This is not a problem. The only thing is it will reduce the efficiency of your pen drive (Access time etc.). Other usb sticks you have may be usb 1.1 devices.

Can you recommend the correct external hd to use for this old pc? Thanks a lot.

Anything up to a 1 TB external drive will work fine. You will only have a speed issue as it's USB 1 and not USB 2 unless you put a new USB port card in the machine.

Transcend 2GB Jet Flash V30 problem

There are some specification of USB speed. There are usb 1.0 , 1.1 , 2.0 . 2.0 is fastest among these. Normally back panel USB ports are USE 2.0 s. If you have installed your motherboard successfully , they should be working fine. Please try Installing those. If it not works, probalby your motherboard has not hte capablity of running usb 2.0 s.

thanks

No high speed usb port

Hi Delvin!

The 2 usb-ports on the front and the 3 back of your Dell is high speed ones, at least the manual says so, they are all USB 2.0.
If you cant get them work properly with the 2.0 usb speed, you can buy an high speed pci add-in- card and install it on your pc.

Here you can read about the "high speed usb" :
http://www.usb.org/developers/usb20/

And here is the manual and avalible drivers for your Dell:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/manuals?~ck=ln&c=us&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen

Good luck to you M8!

Please take a moment and rate my help for you

Hi truckereric, The short answer no.
USB 2.0 is acheaved by two things.
1. You need to enter your system boards Bios. Find the USB settings. If USB 2.0 is listed here than your board will support it.

2. USB 2.0 is installed through windows updates.

3. If your board can't handle USB 2.0 maybe there is a Bios update. No, I checked your bios & there is no bios update to bring you up to USB 2.0.

AOpen's driver / software & bios support found at the link posted here. http://download.aopen.com.tw/Default.aspx
You'll need to fill in the three dropdown menues.
Motherboard
MX4BS
& Order by: LastUpdated
There are five pages of updates. If you change the Category dropdown menue to Bios. AOpen will show you the bios updates.
At least you have AOpends update link.
You can always add a PCI card that supports USB 2.0
