Problem with Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

My xbox 360 keeps on restarting by itself

I have a problem with my xbox 360. Whenever I try to load up the console and start playing games, it would restarts by itself. Upon restarting, It just go to the dashboard and the dvd tray won't eject anymore and the power button just keeps on flashing as if you were ejecting the dvd tray. What seems to be the problem of my console. It also displays on the dashboard that the dvd is an unplayable disc. Thanks a many

    • this sucks i just got this xbox 360 yesterday and it has already had this problem... sounds like everyone is saying the same thing and it is prob the disk drive... bad luck for us i guess... someone please find a solution

    • disc drive won't eject... when i try pressing the eject button, it says "opening" and then immediately says "close tray." pressing it again yields "closing" and then immediately it switches to "reading." after several moments, it says "unplayable disc."

      there's no disc in the drive. there used to be, but i took it out using the manual eject.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I HAVE FOUND THE CURE TO THIS PROBLEM. BUT ONLY DO THIS IF YOU NO LONGER HAVE A WARRENTY OR IF YOU JUST DONT WANT TO SEND YOUR XBOX AWAY. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvLnU-pNyYw this video gives the solution that works on only a certain type of dvd drive. But for people like me who have the Samsung dvd drive it is a different amount of rotations of the screw. I just did 4 and 1/2 rotations instead of 6 or seven. And if this does not work just keep on playing around with those screws and you will eventually fix your exbox perminatly. lol girl and boys easy the way i fix may xbox.
trun on my xbox then at the xboxdashboard go to the far reght and then go dowb to the very bottom of the page then rest ur xbox again done.

ok i have the same problem with my xbox looks like the only solution that might help is to open up the xbox and then clean out the metal peices that make the tray slide in and out it worked 4 me kinda.U just have to let it cool down a lot before u ply and leave ur xbox opened that is wat i do and it kinda prevents it from overheating so fast i also have a century duster with me that is like a c02 can every 10mins i spray my xbox with it to help it stay cool wells hope this helps u.

Putting out a simple solution, try using a brand new faceplate. Myabe your faceplaye is restricting your console.

Big problem with xbox 360's are the chips on the main board getting bad contacts. This is what the 3 red light problem basically is.
