Re: Cannon S330 printer
You guess seems to be right. The user manual says that 7 orange flashes is "Defective print head Contact a Canon service representative". So, the is not much more we will be able to suggest you on FixYa.com, unless there is a Canon technical rep who is also an Expert here!
Sometimes, all is not lost, they may have a special (undocumented) procedure they will ask you to try. Then, if it turns out that your printer is really dead, you may still be able to resell the ink in the classified ads or on eBay. Good luck!

Verify that the usb to ups cable is pluggled in properly. Also you may not have a good ground. Disconnect the ups and plug it in another outlet to test with nothing else plugged into it, to see if it still beeps. You can also try and upgrade the ups software from apc.com
Try unplugging some equipment from the UPS. The total load should be less than 865 W. Printers and scanners often are culprits. Some gaming desktop computers can have a power supply that will be too much for this UPS. (I've found that even having the printer on the surge only part of the UPS can be a problem. I have the printer on a separate surge protector.)
Since the overload is new, did you add any equipment to the UPS recently or upgrade components?
If you reduce the load, and the problem continues, the UPS may have a fault in the circuitry. If it is under warranty, contact APC.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (I have replaced APC units after 3+ years when they can't properly recharge the battery - with a new battery. The symptoms are 1) getting a overload when a small load is on the UPS. Small load - desk lamp, 13" TV or 2) not keeping the item on when the power goes off.)
shady545, If units have batteries older than 3 years of age, they may need to be replaced. I suggest you evaluate each unit one by one and try swapping in a new set of 12v 12ah or 18ah fully charged batteries to see if that will clear-up the problem in at least one unit. I had to replace both batteries in my APC1250 when one battery developed a shorted cell. Let me know what you find out with your units. 12fixlouie 30min north of Windy City
My question is how long is the battery inside your UPS? 5years ? coz sometimes you cannot just base on the voltage you measure on the batteries. dont forget about the current that is being supplied by the batteries maybe the battery current is too weak to handle your load. but if you are really sure that your battery is good. try to check the inverter circuit of your UPS. or send it to UPS service center if you dont know how to check electronics component.
What model of lexmark printer are you having a problem with? How is it connected? Have you change an ink cartridge? Has anything else change when you moved it? Like new computer , different electrical outlet etc.. What type of computer are you using and what operating system are you running? Please wait to rate me untill I get the infromation I need to help you, thanks. I will do my best to help you with your problem.
some printers can detect that the cartridges are refilled based ona barcode or scanning of the cartridges. Does this Cannon have ink tanks or ink cartridges. If it has intakes then the print head needs to be cleaned wth rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. If they are cartridges then it would be good just to buy the original cartidges. As far as the scanning goes this can be a direct connection to the printer going through maintenance. If it continues to not scan then you may need to uninstall the scanner. see if the scanner shows up in your scanners area. if not then it will need to be re-installed.
