I have a Samsung Sync Master 191T monitor and the screen has gone completely black. There is power to the unit and I have tried conecting it to my laptop but have the same result. Power light is on the unit. Have tried turning it on and off and rebooting. I can't find any reset button is it shot?
One of your bulbs may of died out, If it's an LCD take a powerful flashlight and put it up against the screen and see if you can see any visible print or images. If so the problem is one or more of your back light bulbs have burnt out and the inverter has shut down to prevent any shorts or other hazards of high voltage. If this is not the case and you see no print with a powerful flashlight then it may be dead. Make sure you have the screen set on a lighter section such as the windows log in screen, this will allow for optimal light to pass through the LCD making seeing any image much easier. Bulbs are hard to replace and LCDs are pretty reasonable in price. Id sell it as is on ebay and buy another one, it's just easier. There is a quick hack for this but it requires a little soldering. You can pick up a cheep neon bulb wall plug tester and use that soldered in to reactivate the inverter. That however is a take at your own risk quick fix/hack.
