Start by taking a bag tie and bag tie the belt to the drum pulley, hook the other end of the belt to the motor pulley, turn the drum from the top and the belt will be pulled on, once on, cut bag tie off and away you go. other wise hotpoint do supply a special tool that is along piece of hollow tube with a stopper on one end, that hooks onto the motor pulley.
The bag tie method does work, but be careful you don't your arms when you work from the top.

Where are the filters on a Hotpoint Ultima WMA63?

The filter is located at the rear of washer.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage and or obstruction here as well.

Please leave feedback for my solution.
Thankyou.

Refit belt

There is provision made for tensioning the belt.
It is self tensioning.
Remove top cover and rear panel.
With the washer tilted away from you,(get someone to hold it for you)Fit the belt round the motor pulley first, then slowly feed it round the drum pulley, turning the pulley at the same time, watch your fingers as it will be very tight, and just keep going until the belt is on, if it slides off, just start again.
Good luck.

REFITTING THE BELT ON HOTPOINT WMA 40

Place it on the motor pulley and then guide it around the drum pulley. It will have come off for a reason which if you do not correct will cause it to come off again. Lay it flat on a table - if it does not lay flat - replace it. Check the pulley on the drum does not move from side to side. (problem with pulley or drum bearings)

Trying to fit new belt

loop round the motor first then up around the pulley, this will be tight so pull halfway round and hold it to the pulley while turning it, rather like refitting a bicycle chain. make sure it runs cetrally on the pulley by adjusting it on the motor shafts grooves.
