Installing CS3 upgrade

I am trying to install the upgrade, and it asks for the serial number for the previous version which is CS2 standard. It doesn't accept the serial number. Please help.

    Be a little more descriptive...

Was the previous version standard as well? Was it on the same platform?

You need to call Adobe. I have had this problem several times, especially with upgrades. Their product activation call center will walk you through the process.
Hope this helps!

As far I understand, If you install more than one copy of adobe product The serial will lock at Adobe home server.
You can try to contact adobe here and tell them about the problem :

CS3 Serial Number

You need to acquire a genuine CS3 license. If you still have the cd case of your previous installation cd, you might find the serial key there.

But if you totally lost it, you need to purchase the license, otherwise, you will be committing software piracy. And that is definitely prohibited by law.

Transferring upgraded software to new computer

unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. you have to install it on the new computer. Just dont forget to deactivate it if you plan on removing it from the old computer. if you have an upgrade then you just need to install cs4 upgrade and then it should ask you for the cs2 serial number.

Adobe photoshop cs2 version 9 installation

You don't need a serial number for the trial version. However, once the trial version has expired, you need to purchase the full version from Adobe to obtain a serial number and to continue using the software.

When upgrading from adobe cs2 to cs3, do i need the cs2 serial #?

If you want to upgrade to CS3, you will need the registration key to do so. If you don't have it, you will have to buy CS3. The upgrade package will require your registration key for CS2 to complete the installation.

Adobe photoshop CS 3 upgrade version

The point of an upgrade edition of a piece of software is so that you can upgrade your existing software. You need Photoshop 7 or higher to use the upgrade. If you don't have it, you will need to return/refund your purchase of the cs3 upgrade, and get the full version of the software instead.

Your other option is to purchase an earlier version of adobe photoshop, in order to install it so that you can upgrade it. Seems very round-about but I suppose it would work, and I'll bet if you find adobe photoshop 7 somewhere, it'll be awfully cheap ;)
