Superantispyware may or may not remove it, this program will:

Called malwarebytes antimalware. I use it three times a day. superantispyware is not bad, but malwarebytes will remove it in a quick scan without needing to go to safe mode. regardless, my suggestion download BOTH run BOTH in a full scan, start with malware bytes full scan after updating them both. then reboot and run full scan of the superantispyware as well, do this for every login. it will also fix the hijacked backround, and the missing tabs in video properties. which I can also help you with but it should do this for you automatically, also NOD32 will keep it out once it's removed:

oh, as for your follow up it is classified as rogue antivirus malware. which basically means bad, ie it fakes you into thinking that somehow your computer is infected and that you need to purchase their software to remove it.

  1. Insert the Norton AntiVirus CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the installation program appears, then click Browse the CD
    • If the installation program does not appear, then double-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, and then double-click the CD-ROM drive icon.

Windows xp virus problem-windows will not boot up

XP Antivirus 2008 is one of the latest counterfeit antispyware that devastates the wolrd wide web. XP Antivirus 2008 usually come up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus. XP Antivirus 2008 normally generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so end-users will be tricked into purchase XP Antivirus 2008.

This is one of the warnings from the net about this program.

a system restore with disks or a full reinstall may be in your future.... reboot and tap f8 and then boot to safe mode.... does that work ?

I bought Windows AntiVirus 2008 on-line. When I run it, it says there are nine Trojan viruses. When I click fix the problem, it says to re-boot and run scan again. I have done this ten times. It tells...

Antivirus 2008 is a malicious rogue program that prompts you to buy their product. It also goes by Antivirus XP 2008 and Antivirus 2009. Since you have already bought it I am not sure how to get your money back. But, this is a fixable problem for your computer. Go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php, download this tool and it will remove the program completely. Follow all instructions that are prompted and complete removal should be the result. Since it is a rogue program, simply uninstalling will not work. As soon as you reboot, all symptoms will return.

I am an IT Professional that has done this three times in my work this year. A Google search of Antivirus 2008 will reveal countless other people who have had the same thing. I suggest monitoring your bank account/credit card or whatever you used to pay to make sure other unidentified charges are added as other people have had this problem too. I would also suggest downloading an Antivirus such as AVG Free after you remove the rogue program.

Trend Micro Antivirus/Vista Antivirus 2008

Hello there.

Unfortunately you have been infected, by the software called "Vista Antivirus 2008". What this software does is infect you, then prompt you to pay to remove the infection that it installed. So it is a scam.

What i would recommend is use the uninstall instructions from here http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/xp-antivirus-2008-removal-instructions-xp-antivirus-2008/spyware-removal

This will remove the infection (and others) from your system.

Once you have completed the steps, be sure to try an online scanner such as housecall here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
This will not conflict with your already-installed Trend Micro software, it mearly runs through your web browser.

On that note, Internet Explorer is not very safe for browsing the Internet with, i would recommend either Firefox or Opera for a safer/better browsing experience.

Hope this helps.

I bought the antivirusxp 2008 and it keeps asking me to buy it. I haven't being able to do nothing with my computer.

AntivirusXP 2008 sometimes called Antivirus XP 2008, is a rogue anti-spyware program designed by hackers to take your money in return for a useless program. We have noticed that the creators of rogue anti-spyware programs such as AntivirusXP 2008 and Antivirus 2008 are using the year ?2008″ in the name of their deceiving programs. As if we did not know what year this is. We have found that many of the programs that end with ?2008″ in the name just like AntivirusXP 2008, may be related to one another in that they perform the same malicious actions.
AntivirusXP 2008 is very dangerous to have installed on your computer. AntivirusXP 2008 may install other files or programs that pose a serious threat to the security of your system. AntivirusXP 2008 may ultimately allow your personal information to be sent to a remote user who has access to your system through a security hole. AntivirusXP 2008 may come from a Trojan such as Zlob or even the Antivirusxp2008.com website which promotes the AntivirusXP 2008 rogue anti-spyware program.
