I have the same problem. In 2006 I bought a C1100N printer. This fall (October 2007) it got the reported "B open" error. Epson said that warranty was void and that it was nothing they could do.

I decided to buy a new C1100 in December 2007. Yesterday, April 23 2008, the new C1100 got the "B open" error! So now I have one C1100 and one C1100N with the "B open" error!

Do you think that Epson was willing to fix both of my printers? You know the answer. "The warranty is no longer valid... we have no responsability... we can and will not fix it."

I have the same problem. Error "B: Open" but the hatch b is firmly closed. This first occurred several months ago, I put the printer aside and used an old inkjet for a bit, but just decided to have another go before dumping it.

I had a Epson repair man here today. He looked at both my C1100/N printers with the "B open" error. He found that the C sensor was mounted faulty for the factory on both of them. That solved the "B open" error on both my printer. So now I have two printer.

the problem of the B Door open is in fact on the A door sensor.
if you look to the left side of the A door where the sensor is u can see 2 sensores, one metal plate and another in button form. the problem is in the button form sensor, the A door is not push him right, try too push that 2 sensor's and see if the error desapears if so try to find a way to maintain them fushed

I have stashed my Aculaser and got a Brother DCP-150C for about £50. It's an inkjet printer, scanner and photocopier all in one, easy to operate and so far no problems. I might try the cleaning solution suggested for the Aculaser and if it works will stick it on eBay or something.
