I have the save problem. My printer is about 1 1/2 old. Used after market cartridges with any out any problems. Untill this last time when I went to replace the blk cartridge. Bingo----got error code no ink cardridge and suggested I reset the cartridges. I have trided everythign and read and reread everything on the net. No solutions to fix this problem. This is my thoughts on the subjest. Take it for want its worth. I think epson has it programed to shout down when u use after market cartridges for along period of time. The reason I think this, there is so many out there that has this problem. And it comes up right after u change cartridges. Good Luck.

same problem - printer has worked fine on all sorts of cartridges, yet over the weekend, I replaced an empty one with another from one of my suppliers and "no ink cartridges" message, so, I replaced all the cartridges with new ones all of which were of the same make, but I still get the "no ink cartridge" message.

Any solution would be gratefully received

    Thanks

Replaced one OEM cartridge. I have only used OEM cartridges in the last 2 years. Same message as above - printer unusable. Do I now buy a new (non -Epson) printer???. I worked for IBM for 25 years - in the early days. This was the sort of marketing ploy that they thrived on, until they fell by the wa

    yside.

Do I now have to buy 6 Epson manufactured cartridges to get the printer working again - or just move to another manufacturer

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

It says i have a automatic alignment problem it shows i have ink i have'nt changed the ink since i brought the printer.

It could be that the cartridges are not seated properly in the cartridge carrier or the encoder strip got unseated from its position. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:
  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove both cartridges from the printer.
  3. While the printer cover is open, check the cartridge area for a loose encoder strip (transparent strip).
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  6. When the printer turns on, re-insert one cartridge first.
  7. Close printer and check for any errors.
  8. If no error appears, reinsert your other cartridge.
  9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

Q:

I replaced an ink cartridge and my printer still shows that ink is expended. What should I do?
A:

If you have just installed a new cartridge and you are still seeing an ink related error, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed. Follow these steps to reinstall the cartridge.

Make sure the printer is turned on, then open the printer cover.

Do one of the following:

If the red error light is on, press the Maintenance button.

If the red error light is flashing, press the Maintenance button. You see Ink Cartridge Replacement, highlighted in the Advanced Settings menu. Press OK.

You see a message on the LCD screen telling you that ink cartridge replacement will begin. Press OK to continue. The print head moves to the replacement position.

Open the cartridge cover.

Press in the tab on the back of the cartridge and lift the cartridge out of the printer.

Lower the cartridge back into the holder, with the green circuit board facing the front. Then gently push the cartridge down until it clicks into place.

Close the ink cartridge cover.

Press OK and close the printer cover.

The printer begins charging the ink delivery system.

When you see a message that charging is complete (after about a minute), press OK.

Ink cartridges cannot be recognized in canon printer

    Hello!
Remove the cartridges and gently wipe the cartridge contacts with a dry cloth, then put them back in. Then, hold the "resume" button for 10 seconds for each cartridge, that should reset them.
If that doesn't work, one of your cartridges (sadly) needs to be replaced.

My Epsn Stylus PHOTO R300 says I need to replace an ink catridge however it does not tell me which one is out of ink. How do I find out which one to buy?

    Hi,

If an ink cartridge is empty, the red error light will remain solid. You can check the status of the of the ink cartridges by looking at the icons on the control panel. Press the down arrow button to scroll down to MORE OPTIONS. The level of ink will be shown on the screen and the ink that will be out will have cross on it.

Please follow the steps below to replace one or more cartridges.

    ***NOTE***
-You cannot print if any ink cartridge is expended.
-Leave the empty cartridge installed in the printer until you have obtained a replacement.
-To ensure good results on your printouts, we recommend using Genuine Epson Ink cartridges. Epson does not recommend the use of refilled inks or 3rd party ink cartridges.

    1. Make sure the printer is powered on, and not printing.
    2. Open the printer cover.
    3. Do one of the following:

3a. If the red error light is on (cartridge is empty) press the MAINTENANCE BUTTON.
