Hitachi's phone number is:
1-800-448-2244
The repair cost and time frame (unknown) sounds typical - TV manufacturers no longer seem to even keep their parts in stock after 2-3 years.

The signal from the STU to the Hitachi box is going in the wrong direction.
Is the adaptor that you have switchable? If so, flick the switch in the
other direction and this will fix it. If the adaptor is not switchable get
one that is. Then set the STU output to RGB.

Hope this Helps. -CA

42HDS69 plasma. On switch will not work nor will remote.

Start with the power supply and capacitors.

Then check the X and Y-sustain boards (needing for lighting the plasma)

Usually with plasmas you are looking a power supply issue and you can also do a direct replacement if you are more comfortable with it.

Thank you!

My 42ins philiphs plasma will not switch on. it currently shows the red light on standby.i have tried using the remote but nothing happens please HELP....

Hi, if you cant power this unit up, this is most likely the power supply board that is malfunctioning at this time. i recommend replacing this board. this replacement will fix this issue.

Just to be safe, if the plasma is plugged into a surge protector, i would unplug it from this surge protector and try plugging it into a regular wall outlet. if it still will not power up, this will confirm power board failure.

Please rate and god bless:)
