I put item to be copied on the copier glass. I press copy. On copy menu I press number of copies. I press OK I press color start button. The copier starts to work and then a message apprears on the copy screen ' UNABLE TO SCAN " and the command is aborted. I have tried checking drivers and they are okay.
That error comes from the sensor on the right side of the carriage at the bottom. There's a light that shines down on the paper to determine size. Unplug your machine with the carriage in the middle and use a damp Q-tip to wipe up under the right hand side of the carriage. The Q-tip should come back dark blue and that error should go away.
