Not sure of this model, but if its a manual thermostat does it click when turned and this is always the first place I start if it is not a fan assited unit, putting your hand on the compressor ( black pot at rear / bottom usually) and turning stat to maximum cooling to see if compressor fires up is a good starting point. if fan assisted check the evaporator and see if its frozen, if so then you may well have a fan gone. If the fan is ok and its frozen then defrost it, and turn the stat to warmer. if it still freezes then you may have a gas shortage.
If the compressor is running and it freezes the back plate in only one place and not across the whole unit then I would suggest that the gas is short or if running on 143a gas you may find that the evaporator is actually blocked and am afraid that the only cure for that is a replacement evaporator and re-gas.
I would plump for the thermostat from experience though, make sure you label where each wire comes off of it so you can fit it back correctly.
