Critical after DDR333 upgrade

Hello all,
I have a ecs p4vmm2 motherboard with an intel celeron4a 2200mhz cpu, gforce4 vid card. After trying to upgrade ram to two 512 DDR333 pc2700s started getting a bluscreen. ( BAD_POOL_HEADER ) was the most common. After uninstall and reinstall found that one of the ddr slots (slot closest sd bank) is causing this error.. Happens after post just into startup... PC runs fine with that bank empty.. Would really like to take advantage of this other 512 if possible..

Cadyshack,
I got your latest version (8.1) motherboard on my screen & ECS shows your board does not support PC2700, only PC2100.
Downloaded your manual to verify this.
Notice you started having problems after upgrading RAM.
Link to your manual:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=436&DetailName=Manual&MenuID=7&LanID=9

This motherboard accommodates two 184-pin DDR DIMM
sockets for up to 1GB memory. Supports PC2100/PC1600
unbuffered non-ECC DDR DIMMs.

Reformat and i lost my sound/audio p4vmm2 is my model and ECs manufacturer.pls help wer i can find the installer for my sound card.tnx

After you reformat, you need to reinstall all the motherboard device drivers. You can find your device drivers here:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/ECSSearch.aspx?menuid=0&lanid=9&keyword=p4vmm2
Please check your motherboard for the version number as there are several versions of this particular motherboard. Select that version and download the drivers you need.

I want to know what latest CPU and Video Card that can be installed on ECS motherboard P4VMM2 (V7.3).

Maximum processor you can install: Pentium 4A (Northwood) 2.8GHz with HT Maximum video card: ATi Radeon x1950XT AGP
.. and below. Any other video card and processor than that would never fit.

Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and I really need some help. I have a p4vmm2 motherboard with Intel Celeron 2.0 Ghz CPU and I want to upgrade it with Intel Pentium 2.4 CPU motherboard. I have already tried...

Whenever you try to upgrade motherboard and CPU's with Windows XP, you're probably going to have to format your drive and re-install XP. When you originally install XP it detects the motherboard and IDE controlers for your hard drives and installs the drivers needed but it doesn't install all drivers for motherborads and IDE controlers. When you swap out motherboards and the system tries to fire it doesn't have drivers available for the new motherboard and can't complete the boot into windows. Every once in a while you get luck and the new and old motherboard can use the same drivers but this is very rare. So when upgrading motherboards plan on backing up your hard drive of all files you need to keep and being prepared to format and re-install windows.

CPU upgrade not showing correctly

Check the installation instructions; it may be necessary to change some small jumpers on the board if it is not designed to auto-detect the processor.
If you don't have the info on the board, check with Safemanuals.com or retrevo.com or Elite's website for a download.

Motherboard and CPU

Well anything along the 2ghz line in cpu will do and as long as you get a compitibale motherboard that will be fine. If you want a specific combination the intel BX80557E2220 processor (Core 2 Duo) ans the MSI P31 Neo-F LGA775 Intel P31 1333 FSB DDR2 ATX i personally think is great. Please bear in mind you may also need new RAM for this combi.

Possible cpu upgrades for p4vmm2 motherboard

I see that you have already had this answered at Techspot.com They were right when they answered you, you need to check your MB manual to see if it is capable of upgrading to the CPU that you want to use, not all MB support all CPU's just because they both have 478 pins. I looked on the ASUS website and they don't even list your MB model on there.
