There are 2 screws directly under the main top. open the door and look up 2 phillips screws, this will release the top and from there 2 screws on inside lip of front panel will allow front to came off

GE DRYER STARTS BUT WONT STAY ON

how long does it run for?if it doesn't start right up again and it has to sit for a while before it will start again most likely you have a bad motor.the overload on the motor pops from the motor overheating and resets when it cools down.you need to send more info and the model number off of the machine, open the door and look around the opening on the frame where you put the clothes in,and a better description on what's happening with it.

This is an older model but yours has the SAME SETUP JUST NEWER
Most of your newer models have to have the top removed and then the controls and then the front comes off and basically it works the same way as this older one.

GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

It takes 3 hours to dry a load of laundry

if this a 110 volt model, that is probably how long it takes. If this is a 220 volt model, you are not getting air flow. a plugged lint filter. a dryer sheet stuck to the back of the inside of the drum. your vent pipe going outside is plugged or the dryer vent cap outside is not opening and closing normally due to an obstruction.

Replacing felt around drum - model dpsr610eg0wt

On the DPSR610EGWT if you open the dryer door and look at the top of that opening There are two small phillips screws that hold down the top of the dryer. Unscrew those, lift the top and then slide it to the left to remove the top. Next, near the top of the seams between the front and side panels is a screw. Unscrew the small screw and the front will lift off. Be careful because the drum is supported by the front and there are also wires connected on the left. Hope this helps!

Ge dryer

Jim; without the model number it is hard to give specific advise. (model number is usually on the frame just inside the door) To open top, try pushing a putty knife in the seam between the dryer front and the dryer top, a few inches in from each side.

HOW TO FIX A NO HEAT ON A GE ELECTRIC DRYER OVER 10 YEAR OLD

Either one of 2 ways to get to the thermostat on a GE dryer.....

depending on your model, you will have an access point on the back of the dryer to get to the heating element which has attached to it, the thermostat.

If there isn't an access point on the rear of the unit, open the front door of the dryer and remove the 2 screws in the top of the door opening. Using a small prybar, slightly apply pressure prying up the lid. On the inside of the face of the dryer in the corners will be 2 more screws, remove those and pull the face of the dryer outwards to you to about a 45 degree angle. From there, you will be able to lift off the face. Be cautious to unplug the wires for the door switch before pulling the face all the way out. There isn't much to a 10 yr old dryer, just take your time, study the parts and put it back just as you took it apart. For the replacement thermostat or heating element look at

Good luck and let me know if there is any more trouble I can help with.
