You can tell if the lens is cracked simply by looking at it, but I doubt very much that that is the issue here. How do the images on the memory media look when viewed on your computer ? I they are OK, it is merely a problem with the LCD screen itself, but repairs would be expensive.
Most digital devices can be restet by removing the battery and then powering it back on; but read the manual as that may cause you to lose your pictures depending on the device you have.
I just got a fuji digital camera. I was taking pictures and it said memory full and then the lcd screen went dark gray with a green dot in the middle. I then opened the memory card and installed it. I can still take pictures and see thru the focus lens but not the lcd screen.????? pls. help
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interferingwith the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped withthe lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens hadbeen blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with thelens extended ...
Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seemto work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is outof warranty, they're worth a try:
That is what casio calls a lens error. You will have to send it in and have it fixed. The cameras don't do well even when dropped from that short distance.
Call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 1. Tell them that you talked to tech support already otherwise they will try and transfer you to their tech support.
