"limited service" my phone doesnt sent and recieve call and text and indicates limited service. i try my sim to another phone and it works. please help me to solve this problem.

First, try resetting the phone, press the Home button and Power button simultaneously until the screen goes blank. If you don't see the Apple logo, press the power button to turn the phone on. Have your friend try texting you. If it still doesn't receive the text, try removing the SIM card and reinserting it. Try another test. One last measure is to go into Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If none of these work, you will have to contact your carrier as SMS is a carrier specific service.

Turn the phone off, count to 5, then turn it back on. It should find the nearest tower for a signal. A bad SIM card won't do this either like one person said. He/she was lied to at the store or by Customer Service. I used to work for AT&T Wireless & this Emergency Only issue was a big one. A bad SIM card won't allow you to place or receive calls or text messages. T-Mobile runs on the GSM network like Cingular/AT&T does. call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options

try contacting your network sim operator and ask them to send you the text / mms numbers settings to your phone sounds like they are missing this can cause texts and mms to not be sent recieved

suggestions:

• try inserting a new SIMcard of similar network, and if this work with your phone, secure a good signal.. then try sending a simple message.. then recieving a message..

• if both/either this doesn't work, try getting back your original phone settings...
• still doesnt work? have your phone serviced by a qualified cellphone technician..

you need to go to your network settings n change the band

when u have the name stored both in phone memory as well as sim memory this happens. try removing any one.

those few contacts phones may not support over 160 characters in a single text message. hope this helps.
