Question about Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Can not scan

Lexmark X5495 continues to read "Unable to retreive application list" I tried unplugging printer waited 30 seconds but nothing changed. I checked security and made sure anything that said "Lexmark" was an "exception". I am lost! Can you help me out please? Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Uninstall the drivers and utilities, then reinstall from lexmark website.

When i scan to computer it cannot download the application


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Trying to scan, says "cannot retreive application

Hi, I have lexmark printer, model X5495, and I am having problem with the machine. The alignment is on, and whenever I tried to make copies, the paper is all cramped up and got stuck. I cannot find my...


Try removing the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Remove the sheets of paper. Unplug the printer from the power source. Replug after 30 seconds. When the printer's ready, reload the cartridges. Load some paper, don't overload. Try printing again. If problem continues, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem. You may be having a hardware problem.

Cannot retrieve applications listo lexmark 3500


my printer will not scan when i try it tells me downloading applications list then it will not download it tells me cannot retreive applications lists and i have reinstalled the disc and still nothing

Cannot scan anything on my lexmark 4550


There is a patch that you can download and run to resolve this issue.
Step 1:
Download the following patch: http://swdownloads.lexmark.com/Patches/3500-4500/3500-4500.exe

  1. To start the process, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

  2. Reboot the PC.

  3. Unplug the power adapter from the back of the printer.

  4. Plug it back in after 30 seconds.

  5. Try to scan again.
    If the problem still exists, follow Step 2 below.

Step 2:
Download the following patch: http://swdownloads.lexmark.com/Patches/3500-4500/3500-4500wifiethernetpatch.exe


  1. Double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

  2. Reboot the PC.

  3. Unplug the power adapter from the back of the printer.

  4. Plug it back in after 30 seconds.

  5. Try to scan again.

If the problem is still the same

1.Get the printer ip address of the printer (ex: 192.168.1.10)
-press settings on the printer panel.. go to network setup.. View TCP / IP, open a browser (IE or mozilla) and type in the printer ip address
-you will see the printer page and then go to configuration.. choose scan to network host
-delete all the computer name listed

2. Go to start, all program.. choose Lexmark 3500-4500 series and choose Lexmark Solution Center
-go to Advanced, click on networking and then click on Change PC name or PIN
--rename the PC name and then click on Ok

3. Turn off the printer, unplug it for 10 secs

4. Try to scan, it should work

if it's still the same you need to uninstall the printer driver and download the updated driver in Lexmark.com

-reinstall it using the downloaded driver

Lexmar X5410 - scaner


Does scanning work when initiated from the computer using either the "Imaging Studio" or "Productivity Studio" software that came with the printer ?.

Lexmark Scanner - "cannot retrieve application list" Won't Scan - HELP please!


Microsoft Paint ----> 'File' -----> 'From scanner or camera' (while the Lexmark is in scan mode). Just tried it and it really works.
