Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

Ram upgrade What do you mean by an "error later" on the T4200? I am not clear, I can or cannot use 2@512 + 1@256? They have to all be equal in size or not? The T3624 specifically says it can take any combination of memory up to 2GB. Does it really not matter if I put a bigger or smaller amount in the 1st slot?

In most cases if you put of not thesame capacity in any computer later will create further problems. it can damage the other memory or both and the worse is when also the motherboard will also damage.

That is why im telling you this. Please prevent inserting memory of two or three different capacity. You should not do that.

You should select etheir use all 256mb or all 512mb or all 1gb.

in the T4200 since max. is 1.5gb, either use 3-512mb if can carry the maximum if not , then use only 2-512mb.

in T3624 since max is 2GB. You can try 2-1gb if can carry the maximum if not, use only 1-1gb.

Note:
You can use or inserting at different capacity but is at your own risk. "

Ps. does no matter either you put smaller or bigger in first slot.

Pci parity error

Hello it sounds like the BIOS is causing the issue PCI parity error means that it is having trouble detecting what interface onto the PCI bus compared to what it has stored in CMOS.

This will cause major issue with any device on the PCI level including IDE controllers soundcards etc.

See if you can remove the CMOS battery inside and reseat it, to clear the bios. If not then try removing any expansion cards on the PCI channel and reboot. You can always add it later which will either work or identify the device causing the issue. I'm thinking maybe its your ram as some ram has parity checking. Take out your ram and try just one stick. If it works you know you have a problem with a stick of ram!! If it doesn't work, try the same stick in a different dimm slot. With the price of ram at present, this will be a cheap problem!!

Here is the homepage:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3485#manual

For downloading the manual.

When you get the mainboard running again, please update the bios to the latest version.
A bios upgrade, sometimes solves hardware problems.
You just have to make sure it`s the right mainboard.

Hope this will help you

Virtual Memory too low Warning Trouble in win xp and vista

When there is less physical memory than needed, then some virtual memory (virtual RAM) is created on the disk. When there is a limit set to the size of virtual memory usage and there is not enough of it present there is a warning that frequently comes "Virtual Memory too low". Solution 1 : This problem occurs when physical RAM + Virtual RAM (usually created on hard disk) together are not sufficient to take care of the currently needed RAM size, or this situation is about to arise. This usually happens when some fixed upper limit for Virtual Memory has been set. To solve this problem, you can either upgrade you physical RAM on your computer (recommended), or you can set the Virtual Memory to system managed size or you can do both. Setting Virtual Memory to system managed size means windows will set it to higher size whenever needed automatically, for this, <br /> Right click on My computer --&gt; goto properties, goto advanced tab, click on performance settings, now click on advanced, now click on advanced, now click on change button for Virtual memory. <br /> On this screen select the System managed size, press OK. After this re-start your computer. This will solve the virtual memory too low problem. Solution 2: Recommended solution is to upgrade your physical memory (RAM) according to requirements of the kind of applications that you run on your computer. If you upgrade RAM or not, the following procedure will help prevent this warning by increasing the virtual memory limit. <br /> Right click on My computer icon and click properties. <br /> This will show system properties window. Click on a advanced tab and click on the settings button under heading performance. This will open performance options window. Click on advanced tab and click on change button under heading virtual memory. Check if the space available is set to some custom value or double the RAM size ? If it is not double the RAM memory size , then select the size option set the virtual memory size double the RAM Size and press set button and press OK button. Restart the computer

Tried to upgrade memory on Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 to 2 X 1Gb modules. With one module fitted PC starts and shows 1Gb. With 2 fitted it will not start. Tried both modules one at a time in slot 0 and board will...

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/K8NF4G-SATA2/

I think the second slot for the ram might have a defect.

The problem could also be a bios setting or an update.

The bios can be upgraded while the system is running.

If you are in doubt upgrading the bios let a expert do this for you.

Remember that dust can make a bad connection and do not touch the contact points with your fingers.

Try to buy a can with compressed air and blow the ram slot out for dust.

The ram modules must sometimes be at equal size (mhz) in order to the mainboard can boot with the ram.

Good luck

My motherboard does not accept my RAM upgrade. 4 Go ( 4 * 1 Go). Compatibility is OK, i works with 2 Go. With 4 Go : i can't boot, continous beeps ! My BIOS is the most recent. What can i do...

Hi, you can see the specifications here:

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=KN8+Ultra&fMTYPE=Socket+939

Try to download a manual.

My guess is that your cpu does not support that amount of ram.
The ram must also be at an equal size.
Your operating system must be a 64 bit to handle
more than 3 gb of ram.

Dell computer.5 yrs.old. Very, very, slow. What can be done? Have dial up internet service. Also, what does memory upgrade mean?

Hi,

There's nothing you can do about your internet speed, dial up is dial up and is known to be slow. If you want fast internet then you would need broadband.

A memory upgrade would speed up the overall performance of the PC. For example: the computer may take 5 minutes to fully boot up and programs taking time to launch. This would not fully resolve but help it to be more responsive.

A memory upgrade is always recommended by me. I expect that your computer can be probably maxed out to 2GB of memory.

Regards.

I am trying to find a video card to upgrade my Dell c610 the card is currently 16Mb. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to advise you, your Dell is a laptop and laptops have a built-in video chip on the motherboard and it cannot be upgraded or changed.
The video card used shared RAM, ie it uses part of the main RAM module/s, You maybe be able to increase the video RAM size in the BIOS, but this will reduce the main memory, so you might want to upgrade the RAM in the DELL.
You only other alternative is to buy a later model laptop.

Installed ROM into a working HP LJ 4200n, now it does not work, it displays errors "rear door jam" and "cover open".

Check that ALL of the covers / doors are closed completely. If they are not closed completely and securely, the safety switch will not close and the printer will not work - and displays the error. Since the error is "rear door jam" check the back of the printer...a door panel may have popped open while you were working on installing the memory.

Then take your laptop to the authorized vendor and ask them to upgrade it accordingly so that you do not have any compatibility issues later.

e4 errors means fuser error, probably you encountered lots of fuser jamming.
the best thing to do is to ask your service provider to check your machine but for the mean time, you could erase the error log.

press function + orig. size + 3
press 9
find ram initialize
find LBP FUSER RESET
note: make sure that LBP FUSER RESET is the selected one
press set.
restart your machine

if you still encountered an e4 error, it means that there is a physical/hardware problem on your fuser unit.

i hope this could help u. : )
