Re: Maytag washer just died on me
The reset button is usually built into a switch that resets automatically when the lid is opened and tub recentered, you rmodel doesnt show one, but there is a mention of a 10 amp fuse( if so equipped) on the wire diagram. shows it connected right to the L1 wire(line 1) trace the linecord in and see if it gets you to a fuse. possible a bad lid switch and/ or plunger for the switch, not making contact when door is closed

On some of the maytag washers when an unbalanced load stops the maching it blows an internal fuse located behind the front panel on some stacking washer and dryer machines and under the counsel on some of the top load machines. ON the top load machines it is recomended that you change the lid switch with the fuse that comes with it.
There are two screws located on each side of the counsel. Remove the two screws and tilt the counsel up and locate the lid switch, fuse assembly. You can check the fuse at this point.
Sounds more like the dryer drum seal is deteriorating.
If the dryer tumbles the belt is intact.
To access the belt.
Open the door.
Remove 4 screws on right and left side of the door opening.
Raise the door on the hinge side and remove it.
Pull the front panel forward and remove it.
From there you can see what to do next.
a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has
probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in
the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
My Maytag® Neptune® washer filled with water, but it won't spin or drain-what now?
Start by making sure the machine is plugged into a live (working)
electrical outlet. Then check the appropriate circuit breaker and reset
it if necessary (or check the fuse if you have a fuse box).
Next, inspect the drain hoses and remove any kinks. Take a look at the
drain, too - if it's clogged, call your usual drain service person.
Then close the washer door and firmly press the START/STOP button. In a
few moments, after the door locks, the washer should begin to spin.
(For your safety, the washer will not tumble or spin unless the door is
closed and locked.)
