Question about National Optical DC3-163 Binocular Microscope

Open Question

Failure to detect microscope

Computer fails to detect camera. Motic images 1.2 supplied with micriscope was misplaced and Motic images Plus 2.0 downloaded from Motic in its place. Since installing have attached the two pieces of equipment via USB, utility, and video cable. Failure to detect camera has resulted in each case. Message received from Motic images Plus 2.0 is as follows: "no video capture device was detected on your system". Any assistance would be appreciated.

There is no way to get the driver online.
You have two support options. First one is to contact motic directly to their digital support at info.digital at motic.com and ask for the driver from them... or...
... since the motic support guys aren't always the most helpful, you can contact VWR international and ask for the driver from them, but DO TELL THEM that you got the microscope off them.

I am running windows 6 and vista. what do I need to download to have my National DC2-456 digiaal mcroscope up and running?.

The software and camera and supported by motic. Depending on the age of your camera, there may not be a driver compatible with window 7, but it should work on XP or Vista. You can try downloading it from motics site at: http://www.motic.com/Download.aspx?r=NA&lang=en. The National model should have come with motic images Plus.

I need a driver for my microscope

National optical microscope use a Motic camera and software. The drivers can be downloaded directly from motic's site: http://www.motic.com/Download.aspx?r=NA&lang=en/. Some of the older camera's will not work with Windows 7. I believe that the DC2 is old enough to where there will not be a driver for Windows 7, however there maybe a chance with the camera firmware update. Follow this link to determine if yours will work: http://www.motic.com/ProductDetail.aspx?r=NA&lang=en&cid=163&pid=941

With the computer off, turn the microscope camera on, then turn the computer on. If it still doesn't work, then it's likely that the drivers aren't suited to the OS, in which case you chould be contacting Motic to get the right drivers for your OS. (There are several known issues with Vista and Windows 7 and those microscopes)

Is there a manual for this microscope? Motic B1 binocular

You should contact motic directly via http://www.motic.com/Sufeedback.aspx?r=NA&lang=en&email=info.education@motic.com and request the manual, though i don't see how a manual would be useful since the 220A is a pretty standard microscope.
