Failure to detect microscope

Computer fails to detect camera. Motic Images 1.2 supplied with micriscope was misplaced and Motic Images Plus 2.0 downloaded from Motic in its place. Since installing have attached the two pieces of equipment via USB, utility, and video cable. Failure to detect camera has resulted in each case. Message received from Motic Images Plus 2.0 is as follows: "no video capture device was detected on your system". Any assistance would be appreciated.
