My computer & printer are not communicating properly. I also believe I have a birus and need a restore disk from the HP to reset my computer back to original settings from the factory.

Run device manager and remove auknown software, then reboot your computer...

What type of Laptop ? and operating system on it ?

Restoring your laptop to factory settings can take up to an hour to perform, depending upon the type of laptop and operating system on your machine. Prior to performing a system recovery, you should remove any external peripherals, such as ExpressCards, PC Cards, and USB-connected printers and hard drives. Turn on the laptop. Press the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" screen appears. Select "Repair Your Computer" using the arrow keys. Press the "Enter" key. Choose your "Language," then "Next." Login with an administrator-level username and password. Click "OK. Select "Dell Factory Image Restore," then "Next." Tick the check box next to "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition." Click "Next." Click on "Finish" after the computer has concluded the factory restoration. b> Restore on an HP b> Insert the HP recovery disk. Restart the computer, and press the "F11" key. Press the "F" key to "reinstall factory settings." If your computer's operating system is damaged, you may only see "perform a full system recovery" as an option. In this case, press "R." Insert any disks if prompted by the restoration program. Otherwise, permit the computer to restart as needed. b> Restore Via Disks (Generic) b> Insert the "Recovery Disk" or "System Recovery Disk." If you have more than one disk, make sure you insert "Disk 1" or "Part 1." Press any key to boot from CD if prompted to do so. Will not start

I have an HP computer in which windows services is


you won't need a disk all the backups are available in the back up option just hit restore or you can also opt to restore to the previous reset point. depending upon your os you will have to press either f8 key or f9 key while booting up and then select restore to earlier stored point.

I AM UNABLE TO ADD MY PRINTER BACK ONTO MY COMPUTER AFTER REBOOTING THE COMP. i DO NOT HAVE MY START UP DISK AND I AM NOT COMP. SAVVY.


Did you reboot (restart) or did you do a restore? If you did a restart or turned off the computer and then turned it back on, I'd check for a bad cable. Many printers can be reset by unplugging the power and the USB cable (from both the computer and the printer) for a few minutes.

If you returned your computer to the original configuration or rolled back to a system restore point, then I can see losing your printer drivers.

will give you the drivers for most operating systems. Win7 has the drivers in the operating system.

If you use a Windows OS and your computer hasn't given you found new hardware dialog box, check if your cable is good and properly connected. (If it is attached through a print server, you may need to directly connect it to the computer to load the drivers.) Frequently, a bad USB cable or USB port can be identified by changing where you have the printer connected.

Solution
For information on network communication problems or
communication problems involving a memory card, PictBridge camera, or storage

If your HP All-in-One and computer are USB-connected and are not
communicating with each other, try the following:
● Look at the color graphics display on the HP All-in-One. If the color graphics
display is blank and the On button is not lit, the HP All-in-One is turned off.
Make sure the power cord is firmly connected to the HP All-in-One and
plugged into a power outlet. Press the On button to turn on the HP All-in-One.
● Check the USB cable. If you are using an older cable, it might not be working
properly. Try connecting it to another product to see if the USB cable works.
If you experience problems, the USB cable might need to be replaced. Also
verify that the cable does not exceed 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length.
● Make sure your computer is USB ready. Some operating systems, such as
Windows 95 and Windows NT, do not support USB connections. Check the
documentation that came with your operating system for more information.
● Check the connection from your HP All-in-One to your computer. Verify that
the USB cable is securely plugged into the USB port on the back of your
HP All-in-One. Make sure the other end of the USB cable is plugged into a

● If you are connecting the HP All-in-One through a USB hub, make sure the
hub is turned on. If the hub is on, try connecting directly to your computer.

rear USB port speed from High Speed (USB 2.0) to Full Speed (USB 1.1).

How to make an HP Pavilion mx50 computer new like you just bought it?


Backup all your data & music & bookmarks & E-mail to an external disk-drive, or to DVD-writable disks.

Take the "System Restore" CD-ROMs that were shipped with your computer, and reinstall Windows.

If you have lost that set of CD-ROMs, telephone HP, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. Cost will be $20 for the disks, and $20 for courier-shipping.

My HP PSC printer won't print at all. It has new ink cartridges and prints off the test page no problem but the printer & computer aren't communicating


Go into Printers and Faxes check to see if the HP has a tick against it

If not right click on the printer and click on make default

Go to properties and hit Test Print

If that fails go back to printers and faxes and delete the HP

Add a Printer in the Printer & Faxes section

And when asked tell it you have a disk , put your driver disk in the PC and let it load

When it is happy re-boot and see it the printer is seen by XP on the start up.

If it does then let it finish and do the Test Print routine again

How to reset HP 1320N to factory default


Make sure you record your printer's settings before performing this procedure. Holding down the printer's Green print button briefly will print any configuration information.

a. Turn the printer power off
b. Press and "hold" the green "go" button whilst turning the printer on.
c. Continue to hold the go button for at least 5 seconds and until the amber
attention light turns on (triangle with ! in the middle), this should occur
before 15 seconds elapses.
d. Release the go button.

We are having trouble installing our new c6380 printer, we have tried to install it into our new hp computer three times via the usb port, with no success, our screen goes a foggy white, and we can not get...


You need to goto add remove programs and remove anything with c6380. then put the disk in again and reinstall. If that doesn't work remove again but this time after uninstall don't use the disk that came with the printer have the computer wizard search onlin for proper installation...
