Question about Mag Innovision InnoVision LT 765S 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
If you feel confident about taking the monitor apart , remove the plastic covers and check the top of the capacitors round can shaped componets on the boards. if the top is domed shaped in sted of flat they are bad and can be replaced by un soldering them and re soldering new ones in their place.

Sounds like the inverter is dying/died. Take a flashlight and shine it directly or at a large angle at the screen - is the picture still there? If so then the backlight inverter has failed (very common). You can either send it off to get fixed (expensive) OR buy a new inverter and change it yourself (sometimes cheap, sometimes expensive) OR you can repurpose another inverter in your monitor (requires electronic skills and experience but very cheap - http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=ccfl+light+kit )
