The brake calipers will need to come off which is the hardest part for most. Have a " C" Clamp with an 8 inch throat is needed so you can press the brake pads inward to release pressure from the rotor. Upon removing the caliper the saddle if so equipt has to be unbolted from the steering knuckle. Two bolts hold this saddle on. You may not have one depending on the design caliper this truck has. Once these parts are off the rotor will come off

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra. My truck has the shakes when I hit the brakes. I have put brand new rotors on the front and it still does it. Can the rotors on the back cause the shakes as well? The brake pads...

That is usually caused by warped rotor discs. I know you said you just put on new ones, but has anyone put new tires or removed and replaced wheels on your truck. I have seen in the past, when they overtightin the lug nuts it warps the rotors.

All mechanics I have seen installing wheels have over torqued them.

I just bought a 2000 GMC sierra single cab pickup that has had the suspension lowered and now I want it back to factory specs

You will have to figure out how they dropped it wether they replaced the front spindles with drop spidles or not and if they did how far did they go.There are many parts involved in dropping it the right way and all those will have to be replaced in order to get it to stand proud.

Remove front Brake Rotor

Try opening up the caliper with a flat screwdriver thru the opening in the middle of the housing.pry on the rotor and pull towards you to push the rotor back. That should loosen it up enough for you to get it of the rotor. If that dont work you probably got a stuck caliper and have to release the brake line and do the procedure again. GOOD LUCK
