Did you just buy the computer, about a month ago?
If so, it may have had a "trial" version of MS Word installed. You can "try" MS Word up to 25 times, over up to 30 days, without having a license-key.

Before that number of uses, or number of days, you need to _purchase_ a license (which gives you a product-key) to continue to use the software.
