I have an Acer Aspire 5633 running windows XP SP2. When I move the mouse to the righthand side of the screen the screen image jumps up and down very quickly until I move the mouse away.
Also when I open a window or program the image that was on the screen before leaves an imprint. So if I open for instance Explorer I see a light imprint of the desktop.
I have uninstalled the display drivers and reinstalled them but no change. Also tried changing refresh rate and lowering resolution and colours but still no luck.
The graphics card is nvidea geforce go7300 and does not require additional drivers other than those from windows, I believe. As others from nvidea I have tried for the 7000 cards say that no compatible hardware is found.

- Unfortunately the Nvidia driver says it can't detect any compatible hardware and the acer site doesn't list any drivers for this that I can see.

Drivers may not fix the issue but try the latest ones from the site below. You can't find them on the Nvidia site because Acer don't like sharing:

Q: Does NVIDIA support notebooks with UDA (downloadable drivers)?
Yes, NVIDIA has always been able to support notebooks with the unified driver on nvidia.com/nzone.com, however, our Tier 1 OEM partners have always required that we direct customers to their Web sites and disable support for their notebooks in our unified driver. NVIDIA does support OEMs/SBs who request that their notebooks be enabled in our unified driver. For example, most of our launch partners are enabled on our Web unified drivers (Sager, Falcon NW, Voodoo PC, ProStar, and others).

For some reason they don't list the 5633, but the 5630 has the same GPU.

Hope this helps,

erch.

- Did you try the VGA nVidia Driver ver 8.6.0.2 from the drop down menu on that site?

To be fair I rather suspect that this is a hardware problem in any case, so I'm afraid it looks like a trip to the store or manufacturer.
