This is NOT an error code...the machine is simply telling you that it has run/printed a certain number of pages and it will soon be time to replace the drum.
The "replace drum soon" indicater is a warning for you to have a new replacement drum "on-hand". Soon the display will change to "REPLACE DRUM" AT WHICH TIME THE UNIT WILL STOP PRINTING.
When the new drum cartridge is then installed...the REPLACE DRUM indicator will be reset. DO NOT replace the drum before the machine says to.
you need to open the front cover (where drum and toner is installed) and press the options button, it will ask replace drum? Press 1 for yes and close the front cover.
drum and cartridge are two different things. The cartridge is attached to the drum. They do need to either be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. You can try to clean out the connections. But many o require replacement.

Press the CLEAR key. 4. Press 1 to reset. 5. Close the front cover, pressing firmly on each side until they click into place.
Reset of the drum counter Open the front cover. Press the Options key on the control panel. The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO". Press 1 to reset the drum count. Close the front cover.
