Question about kawasaki PVS1965 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

One of the 2 screens will not show DVD

One of the screens lights up blue but will not show the picture on the screen.  Is there anything we can do about this?  The other screen is working fine.  Is there a way to replace one screen if the problem cannot be solved?

Neither of our screens shows a picture or even a blue screen. I checked all the connections but it still doesn't show any picture.

A blue screen is usually displayed when it isn't receiving any signal input.

DVD hooked up to sony bravia tv: have dvd power on, but can not get any set up menus (or anything) from dvd to show on tv screen.Unable to set up remote as menu does not appear on tv screen.

Hook up the player with RGB (Red-Green-Blue or component) cables and try the picture. If everything works OK, then go to the menu and turn on the HDMI output and set the resolution (if needed).
Not every HDMI unit works with every HDMI TV. You may also have a bad HDMI cable. On a DVD recorder, you may have your HDMI cable connected to HDMI IN. You must use HDMI out.

No picture but has sound

Hi If your t.v.has built-in blue screen when there is no signal, then the DVD may have been accidentally switched to progressive scan mode, or defaults to that setting if new. If your T.V. is not capable of displaying in progressive scan mode, you will just get a blue screen. If you have an older tv, without blue screen, then connect it to that, and if you get a black and white split screen when you turn on the DVD, then progressive scan is the problem. Check the manual for the DVD player for the procedure to get out of that mode, and it should then work. If you still have no video, and you are using the yellow composite video jack on the back of your DVD player, then it must be brought in for service. Good Luck!
