Rattling noise when my samsung P1453 washing machine tries to drain water I have checked the drainage hose and the debris filter, the noise seems to be coming from around the area of the debris filter. I was wondering if it might be the drainage pump, if so is this easy to replace Thanks for your help Jason Hulse UK

Samsung SW60ASP washing machine won't spin or drain

5E is a Drain Error Code.

This can be caused by a clogged filter in the washing machine or a blocked drain line in your house. There can be a few other reasons, but these are the most likely.

If you would like to try to repair it yourself, then follow these instructions:

UNPLUG the washing machine. Repeat, UNPLUG the washing machine!!!

Check the filter in the back of the washing machine on the bottom right-hand corner. Place a shallow dish under the filter. Loosen the filter to drain out the water. Remove the filter and clean it out. Look at where you removed the filter and you will see the water pump impeller. Make sure it can move and isn't locked up. Remove any debris from the impeller.

Replace the filter, and plug in the machine. Try a short wash cycle.
Check for leaks around the filter.

Samsung WF7700N6W1 washing machine not draining

Could be a sock or something between the 2 drums that moves over the outlet hole from the drum when upright and trying to drain but moves away when machine is on its side. Get a flashlight and look through the holes in the inner drum and you may find the culprit.
A coin may also be stuck in by the pump blade, not always easy to see but worth a look.

Machine had been giving E20 error code - filter cleared and it re-started ok. When wash was in progress - jammed at rinse stage and all lights came on (except spin speeds) and humming noise and nothing...

E20 is an error code for drainage failure.

Check where the appliance drain hose connects to the house drains for a blockage.

If it's onto a spigot under the sink, take them off and check both for a blockage.

If these are ok then it's likely to be a blockage in the pump.

You'll need to drain the water out manually.

Put a shallow dish below the filter and slacken the filter.

Tighten it to stop the flow of water while you empty the dish.

Once empty, take the filter out, clean out the debris and ensure nothing is left jamming the pump.

Before refitting the filter, put the machine on drain or spin and listen at the filter housing to see if you can hear the pump running.

If you do, fit the filter and try the machine again.

Noisey pump

Take the drain pump apart and look for debris, or broken pump impeller. Remove the lower spray arm and filter assembly, check for debris in the sump and check the drain check vavle to make sure it is sealing properly. While in there make sure the food disposer blade are not clogges with debris.
