Check your fuse box for dirty connections or corrosion around the fuses. Check the engine cut off switch (rock it back and forth a few times), side stand safety switch of so equipped, clean the battery terminals and cables.

When I push the start button the bike does not start. The key is on and the lights come on the turn signals work but when you push the start button you get nothing not even a click. Is it possible that...

I would check out a few other things first, a bad solenoid still clicks, How about the kickstand switch, working? Stuck on?, how about the kill switch? On? The bike will not crank in gear. Make sure it is in neutral. If those check out, then start looking at other things, like the oil level? The relay from the battery to the starter can come loose. The wires at the starter itself, loose?Corroded?. Anti theft device activated? Check it out, Hope this helps.

Harley won't start ... starter not working custom softail ... 80 ci v twin engine... nothing happens when I push the starter button.... battery is fine and all lights work... clicking sound under seat...

That clicking sound you are hearing may be a circuit breaker tripping indicating a short circuit somewhere. I think the starter circuit is powered by the ignition circuit. If you have a short circuit in your ignition system the breaker will trip killing power to your ignition, thus the engine dying, and preventing power for the starter circuit preventing the bike from being restarted.

On your bike, I believe there is a chrome coil cover over the coil on the left side of the bike. Check and see if this cover has come loose. I've seen them come loose and fall down on the coil connector on top of the coil shorting it out. If that ain't it, just keep looking, there's a short somewhere. Good Luck

Bmw r1100rt will not start. lights etc come on put will not turn over

IF absolutely nothing happens when you hit the start button ( not even lights dimming ) then I would start by checking the safety switches.
If memory serves me that bike wont start while on the sidestand. The driver must be on the bike with the side stand up and the clutch lever pulled all the way in. Id start with those two switched first.

The battery is fully charged all the lights and indicators work but when i press the starter button nothing happens there is no sound but the red light still shows in the rev counter. the bike was running...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, start with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the side stand folded up.

Offhand, check the 2 wires going to the starter relay. 1 should have a +12 while the other must go ground when starting.

Postback results of above tests.

Incidentally, a 98 XJ600N could be pushed started.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Push starter button and no start

Hello,
Evansville! Nice part of the World.
Bud's Harley Shop still there?
O.k. daft thing is the off run switch on the handlebars turned to off?
Failing this will the bike start and run off bumping (Push start).
If it does take a look at the battery (Maybe Dead cell/s) or Starter solenoid wire/fuse.
Solenoid is located near the battery it is the cylindrical item with the main pos+ wire from battery going to it.
Good Luck! could do with a new Bud's Harley 'T' shirt as mines worn out.
