Issue with 4 of 20 student stations. Video garbles. Replace drivers, no effect. Update drivers, no effect. Works in safe mode only, but at higher resolutions in normal mode, video is a mess. Installed TNT2 Vanta AGP cards and all is functioning as it should. Annoying as I just had another fail this morning.

No video/ does not power on

Check the power supply, you must have at least the +5vdc standby voltage at the power output connector, look for bad caps withleaking/bulging top, you may also have shotrted out Q7 and ZD4 in the +5vdc standby power supply section. Hopefully you do not have failed inverter bd. too. The power supply module and the inverter board are common parts that failed.

My wii console will not power on. have checked all plugs and everything is connected and outlet has power

HI. the power supply board has failed. There is a fuse(3amps) inside the power supply unit. you will need to remove the cover from the power supply to access this fuse. once inside the power supply, inspect the fuse. if it is truly blown, replace it. if the fuse is not blown, this will confirm a failed power supply unit. it should be replaced in this case...

Gateway 838gm has no video output. no beep during power up how do I trouble shoot

If you are getting nothing, no beeps, nothing spinning then you might have a bad power supply or failed motherboard. I would also take this time to inspect the motherboard (mobo for short). It should not have any capacitors (they look like tiny soda cans) that are bulging at the top, swollen at the top or leaking any kind of fluid. They should be perfectly flat. If your motherboard looks good then I would get a new power supply. You will want to take out your other power supply and look for the output watts. It will probably be in the range of 150 to 300. You must buy a power supply that has more than what you take out, never less. If you have put in a bigger video card or have a lot of expansion cards that you have added to the system you will want to increase the power supply over 400 watts.

Ibm thinkpad t22 2647

Four things that could cause this. 1- power supply, check it for the proper output with an ohm meter, 2- bad battery, try starting with the supply only, 3- bad memory chip or slot, remove the memory, and try each chip one at a time in each slot, 4- failed power management system on the motherboard. Unfortunately, a failed power management system or chip is common with these, and the motherboard will have to be replaced in order to fix it.

The video drive board may have failed, or the output section of the power supply that drives the video drive board may have failed.

It is also possible and is common on LCD sets, that the backplane lamp supply, and or the backplane lamps have failed.

Turn on the LCD TV set, and shine a flashlight in to the screen at an offset angle. If you can see a bit of the image, you know that everything is working, and it is a backplane illumination problem.
