To replace the battery in the MS9535 Scanner, you need to remove three phillips head screws. First remove the rubber surround at the front of the scanner to reveal two screws underneath. Just pull the cover forward and it will slip right off. The third screw is located underneath the small round sticker near the bottom of the handle. Either poke through it or peel it off. Once all three screws are removed, carefully separate the top and bottom halves of the scanner. Make sure to note how the battery is positioned in the handle as it needs to be orientated correctly when replaced. Carefully pull the battery wires out of the socket on the circuit board, noting the orientation of the plug, and remove the old battery. Plug the new battery in. Be sure to place the new battery in the same position as the old one and place the circuit board in its spot. The red lens probably fell out of the front of the scanner, so replace it and bring the two halves of the scanner back together carefully. It may take some fiddling to get everything to settle in place. Replace the screws and rubber surround. There should be enough charge on the battery to power it up for a test. Charge scanner over night and you're good to go.
your wws800 should have come with two batteries. One goes in the reception base and one goes in the scanner itself. You should allow for four to 6 hours to fully charge. When charged, scan the setup barcode on the bottom of the reception base and then the BASE code. This will allow your scanner to create a connection with the base. Give it 5 secs or so, you should hear three beeps.
Unless you get the factory service manual for the laptop you won't find any printed instructions. You can try searching youtube for instructions.
Basically what you need to do is remove the screws on the bottom of the laptop. Beware that there are usually screws under the covers for the hard drive and memory and such. Also there are usually screws under the CD drive which has to be removed before the top cover can be removed. Most times it is favorable to remove the monitor by removing the hinge screws and wires from the main board. Also note that all the plastic covers also have snaps so some force must be used to separate the covers.

By definition the MU gets it's IP address from the DHCP server. If it's getting an address that's already in use, then it's the DHCP servers fault not the MU. I would look at the server and make sure it has enough available IP addresses to go around.
