I have a 2002 ford f250 7.3 diesel with a drive shaft vibration at around 45mph. It has a 2 piece drive shaft. The large rubber bushing around the drive shaft in carrier housing is somewhat collapsed on the bottom. could this be the problem or does this rubber bushing need to be replaced anyway?

Hello, i have a chevrolet dually, the carrier bearing, in mine was doing this, i took it apart, pulled both driveshafts apart then took carrier bearing off, the bearing inside was dry, plus they had a bblue look to them, bearings was bad, plus rubber around the bearing was dry rotted, there is know way of greasing these bearings because they are sealed, i pull bobcats, tractors, with mine if you use it for a lot of heavy pulling, they dont last a long time, chevrolets carrier bearing is all made together, bearing and rubber is made together, on mine, seems like i paid about 35.00 dollars for mine, spray some wd-40 around driveshaft where it goes into bearing, i had to take a hammer to mine to get it off front drive shaft, it was stuck pretty bad.

My ford expedition squeaks while driving

If you have a rear drive line shaft (tail shaft) check the u-joints for a rust streak around the cross and cups. They u- joint goes dry and will squeak as the joint goes through the angle of drive. If you have a front shaft as well check it also. If they feel loose and show signs of rust have them replaced specifying joints with a grease nipple. If not that check the suspension rubbers or if you have neoprene or plastic bushes check them also for wear

Vibration at 60-70 mph 2006 frontier it feels like it is under the cab not in the front end

There is a bearing at the drive shaft ,has a rubber bushing the bushing usually fails then the driveshaft loses it's alignment then
starts to vibrate . that could be your vibration.

check your tires for a bad spot or a knot. this could cause the vibration. check you switch and see if it has power. if it does maybe the a relay.could also be a lose ground wire.

Vibration at 40mph to 45mph, smooth up to and after

do you have a clunk sound from the drive shaft? either way you may have a bad u-joint or it is a tire balance issue. but tires usually have issue's around 55 to 65 and u joints are more in the 40's . so have the u-joints checked out because this is the most likely cause. let me know if you have any more question and good luck

Van rumbles and vibrates

Does this van have a carrier bearing in the center of the driveshaft? If it does this could be your culprit, you can tell if it has a carrier bearing by looking at the drive shaft in the middle it will around the driveshaft and bolted to floor support of the van.
