Fax machine problem

If it's from your side just turn the device off, if it's from the other side (if you sent a fax over to someone) then it's in their memory and you can't do anything about it. For further help consult the manual here: Brother Intellifax 1270e manual

chack the scaner some paper dust is thear & clean the scaner unit

Check paper can also sometimes mean a jam. Remove the drum unit from the machine and check for a piece of paper inside the machine.
Also with this machines feed path it can mean that a foreign object can fall down the back and obstruct the paper.

you need an analog phone line to fax.

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD GO IN TO THE SET UP AND RESET THE MACHINE. THE MACHINE SHOULD BE ON FAX ONLY OR AUTOMATIC. GOOD LUCK

Plug a regular phone into the wall jack to verify that you have a dial tone.

It's probably pen ink or white out on the scanner glass. Open up the door covering the document feeder and clean the glass.
